My husband and I just spent this past weekend away in one of the new geodesic domes and had the most lovely time with our two dogs. We were pleasantly surprised that they had a pet-friendly dome!! Normally we have to kennel our girls and it's a big headache and takes away from the time away because we are worried about how they are doing and missing them. We stayed in the Rainbow Dome because it is pet-friendly but there is also the Gem Dome and the Snow Dome that is geared more towards couples (no pets) and families of up to 5. It was a really cool experience right in the heart of Edmonton and the high ceilings were nice and made it feel really big from the inside. Surprisingly it didn't feel like you were in the city at all with how quiet it was, yet we were a quick drive to food, shops, gas, and other attractions so it wasn't hard to keep busy either. There was a visitors guide in the dome which we found quite helpful considering we aren't familiar with Edmonton and haven't spent much time here. There were tons of suggestions for food, activities, and things that were close by. We were also very happy to find out that we could order Skip the Dishes right to the gate when we didn't want to drive anywhere! The decor in the dome was very on theme (Rainbow). Everything was bright and beautifully decorated, the fireplace surrounded with lots of comfortable seating made it so cozy! The queen sized bed was super comfortable and even had a heated mattress pad for those cold fall evenings. All the bedding was provided, I will say everything was very clean. I loved that there was a kitchenette equipped with a coffee machine, mini fridge/freezer, and even a dining table with four chairs. The washrooms were very clean and convenient with hot showers!! Definitely bring your own towels (I'm glad we did!) as they are not provided. We cooked a few meals over the campfire which was nice and I would recommend bringing all your own dishes, cooking utensils, pots/pans, cutlery, and cups as these are also not provided. We do a lot of camping so were very well prepared with everything we needed. Booking was super easy over the phone with Sharlene and Clay the security guard was wonderful and so helpful the entire weekend. Overall we had a wonderful time and were really happy with the time of year that we booked. The trees were all changing colour, we were nearly the only ones there (other than another couple in the dome next to us), and things were very quiet and relaxing.

We had an amazing stay in the domes! They were spacious, beautifully decorated, and the heated mattress made the bed super cozy at night. The dome came with thoughtful touches like coffee mugs, a mini fridge, and a fire pit outside with comfy camping chairs. It was so convenient not having to bring things like blankets and chairs! This spot was the perfect getaway for my partner and I. Even though it’s right in the city, it felt like we were camping deep in the forest. We loved playing mini golf, grabbing drinks at the snack shop, and exploring the beautiful campground. The Aerial Park looked like a lot of fun too, and we had a blast playing the lawn games they provided! The campground itself was beautiful. The washrooms were very clean and well-kept, just a short walk from the domes, which made it really convenient. These domes are perfect for couples or families who want a unique getaway without traveling far. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a fun, relaxing, and memorable escape!

We had the best time in the Snow Dome this past weekend! As a family of 5 with 3 young kids, this was the best way to have a camping weekend (from someone who doesn't camp...). We stayed dry in the rain and had comfortable beds to sleep in (the kids LOVED the bunk beds!). The facilities on the grounds were clean and easily accessible. And, there is no shortage of activities to do on the grounds or walking paths to explore just behind the campground. We loved the new mini-golf course and the kids had a blast finding gems and shark teeth in the mining activity, and the playgrounds were a hit! I would highly recommend a dome stay to couples or families with children of any age (whether you are a regular camper or not). We look forward to coming back soon and trying out the aerial park!

This isn't the first complaint about staff as I look over reviews. My boyfriend and I recently stayed here for 2 weeks as we're visiting from Grande Cache for the summer. Our first week I booked, I had called and spoken to an elder later who had answered the phone with just a hello, making me question who I was even speaking with, she then followed it with rudely taking my reservation and asked for the credit card, I had explained we were using my boyfriends and he wasn't with me and I would call back within 10 minutes. She huffed and puffed, explained I wasted her time etc. Simple mistake. Considering she was so rude, my boyfriend called and re-made the reservation. He explained I called earlier without the credit info and the woman said "we get calls all day" carrying on with the reservation , he had asked questions such as "how big is the lot" and word for word she asked "why does it matter" shocked, my boyfriend just laughed and then continued making the reso, she continued being extremely rude to him, making sarcastic remarks..We booked the last week and they had told us the camp site was available for 11 days. .. our 7th day in I receive a call with a different younger lady asking if our trailer is in the lot.. I confirmed and she had word for word said very unprofessionally "well we had a reservation, you're over your stay , 2 weeks allowed in one season, thanks to you, you screwed us over, get your camper and get out" i tried to ask why the lady had told us it's available for 11 days but she was just complaining and not letting me speak. I just hung up in disgust that someone would even talk to me like that. While I called my boyfriend I waited for him to get back to pack the trailer on his truck, someone had actually unplugged my trailer from the box.. and then looked in all my windows as well opened one. Here I am , scared not knowing what's going on. The only reason I rate this place a 2 star is because the Owls and their new park. You can get a lot that actually has grass elsewhere whom...

We stayed at the rainbow valley campground for a week during June. One afternoon while preparing camp dinner, we heard a massive crack and a huge tree limb fell right onto our tent. Our toddler daughter had just woken up from her nap 10 minutes earlier and luckily was playing with her brother and sister in the playground. I went straight to the front desk to report what had happened and try to understand what would happen next. When I told the woman on front desk (including my daughter's near miss) her response was "cool" - I am not kidding that was actually her response - followed by "it is not our responsibility, the trees are the City of Edmonton's responsibility". The lack of basic compassion was simply astounding. Then we asked them what their process was and did they have any reporting forms etc.. for the City of Edmonton they had nothing and had no idea of what any process was. About an hour after the incident the Head Groundsman turned up and his main concern was clearing away the damage so other guests would not know what had happened - a little late for that! I understand that the tree falling is outside of their control, but their response or lack of it was completely and utterly shocking to us. Whatever about customer service, this was no way to treat people period. When my husband went to check out, the person at front desk actually seemed surprised that we would not be coming back. She also told my husband that the tree in question had been marked for treatment by the City of Edmonton, but there had been no follow up. I fail to understand how they could allow camping on this site if they were aware of this fact. Their complete lack of regard for safety should make people think twice before...
