I’ve had the pleasure of staying at all three June Motel locations over the years—Picton, Sauble Beach, and now Beaver Valley—and each one offers its own unique vibe and special experience. This past weekend marked my second stay at The June in Beaver Valley, and it was nothing short of spectacular! We were so fortunate to take over the entire motel with a group of 11 friends, and it turned out to be the perfect setting for us to gather, relax, and truly be present with one another. Nestled among the trees, the property offers stunning views of the river and the hills in the back, making it a serene, peaceful retreat. We made full use of the property’s fantastic amenities, including the sauna, riverfront access for a cold plunge, fire pits, and the charming parlour area. The decor in every room is gorgeous, thoughtfully designed to create a relaxed atmosphere that enhances the entire experience. The equipped kitchen was perfect for preparing meals and beverages. We also had the opportunity to enjoy a beautifully catered dinner from a local gem, Justin's Oven, in the upstairs room—such a cozy and memorable experience. Dining at Heart’s Tavern, just a minute’s drive away, was another delicious highlight! The June’s location is also ideal for exploring nearby Blue Mountain, Scandinave Spa, Collingwood, Thornbury, as well as hiking trails and wineries. A huge thank you to the dedicated staff, who made our stay seamless. From the smooth check-in process for our large group to ensuring that breakfast was always stocked and making us feel right at home, their attention to detail was exceptional. I cannot recommend The June enough for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with loved ones. Whether you’re looking for a quiet retreat or a fun group gathering, this place offers an unforgettable experience in one of the prettiest settings around. We left feeling so grateful for the memories made and for the amazing hospitality that made our stay truly special. Thank you, June Motel! We'll be back!

A quaint boutique hotel with strong cottage core vibes. Self-service hotel with no concierge only via text. Limited parking. No signage for the hotel whatsoever though. You’ll only know it’s The June when you park, and read the small signage posted on the hotel wall. There should at least be a sign you can see from the road, especially if you’re arriving at nighttime. The bedroom was a decent size for 2 people with a comfy king bed. The huge downsize is the en suite bathroom. It was far too small, where it resembled more of an airplane bathroom. There was absolutely no room to move in the stand up shower. You’ll end up hitting the walls, constantly have the shower curtain touch you and flood the bathroom floor. There’s a mini fridge in the bedroom as well, except you can feel it overheat. It’s tucked away as if it were a cabinet. If you’re ever to place items or beverages on top, they’ll be warm. There is complimentary breakfast, which was another let down. There were only ever 2 options and 1 was always the “breakfast cookie”. The other a fruit loaf (banana or berry). Only high sugary options were provided. A fresh loaf of bread would have been better. The coffee machine did make up for the lack of breakfast options. The sauna was a great addition as an amenity to the hotel. The docks could have been bigger or maybe add another one, so all guests have the option to sit on the docks. Overall, it was a decent stay.

My wife surprised me for my birthday by going to the June Motel. What a gift this was! We were there beginning of September. It is a real escape by being surrounded by nature everywhere. Everything was perfectly thought out at the hotel: design, appearance, beer in the fridge, coffee/tea 24/7, robes and slippers, toiletries, decor, breakfast baked goods, fire pit and wood, music in the parlour (and you can actually connect to the device via bluetooth!) I have to say I was skeptical of having no concierge. However, the service was still impeccable. Someone would promptly reply to your text. Sitting by the river was my favourite. Listening to the water going by. Jumping in the river and feel the cold refreshing water. Quiet which allowed listening to the birds, the wind, the river. We’ll definitely go back. Highly recommended is an understatement

0 STAR SERVICE … if you have any issues you are on your own.

We arrived at the June Motel to find out that the A/C in the room was broken. The room was hot, stuffy and over 26C during a heat wave. Judging by the portable fan already in the room but not present in the other rooms it seems that this was a known issue prior to our stay but there was no forewarning. The rooms were also poorly cleaned with hair on the shower walls.

We called the service number and spoke to an employee named Steven who told us he would try and send someone over that night and would keep us updated. However no one ever came that night and we did not receive a single update. He was also unreachable and would not pick up any further calls from us even with multiple attempts, and they all went to voicemail.

We reached out again via text in the morning and again there was no response until multiple attempts later when finally at 1pm they mentioned that there was nothing they could do about the A/C. We slept poorly a second night in the heat with no A/C.

It was very frustrating that after being told there would be follow up, all contact was abruptly cut off. It seems that management did not care at all about our stay. Even worse it seems as though they knew about the issue but neglected to tell us before our stay and pretended nothing was wrong. This was clearly unprofessional.

Other than half-hearted apologies over text there was no mention of any other solution. It was again after multiple attempts to contact did they offer a 25% discount on the booking. We viewed this as unacceptable as the A/C was not working both nights of the stay making our entire visit very uncomfortable. After relaying these concerns to management we have again been ignored for a whole day.

Terrible and unresponsive customer service who does not seem to care about any issues. Ignoring phone calls and texting us back many hours or even a day later. This was a new low of unprofessional service considering the nightly rates of the rooms. Even worse they seemed know about the issue but tried to hide it.

Very poor customer service and management that does not...
