Stayed 2 nights in an Otentik in September 2021 and had mixed feelings about the stay. We've stayed in at least 6 other Otentiks and this one was the worst, and some of it came down to the park.

The pros were that the ocean was a minute away and you could hear the waves crash.

The cons 1. The park was out of firewood and we were told to find it ourselves and that it was easy. After trying all the stores in town and all roadside stops we ended up finding a kind and generous local who took us to his house and loaded us up from his backyard.2. the listing stated it came with a BBQ, great. When we got there we realized it was a charcoal BBQ without any supplies. In all my years stating in Otentiks it's always been a propane BBQ, they really need to fix this. 3. The Otentik itself made an insane amount of noise and we didn't sleep at all the first night, I've stayed during windy nights before but there was clearly something wrong with the roof and supports. 4. We stayed in an "accessible" Otentik but the bathrooms ere portapottys and a trailer, be careful if you need an accessible bathroom as you'll have to drive to the...

The location is great, the bathrooms are clean, the staff is excellent. We asked for advice on laundry facilities and the staff member told us about the facilities at broad cove campground. The sites are too close together for me. You are so close that you can hear conversations from the sites around you. It was a struggle for us to fit our tent, car and lawn chairs around the fire. It’s a great location for hiking and the beach. There are lots of sinks for washing dishes and shelters with tables to cook or just hang out in, including a wood stove. We cooked dinner in a shelter when it was raining. I would stay there again but only if I could avoid the sites that are too...

Campground was very convient with the facilities it has to offer - public washroom and shower, wifi room, sheltered cooking areas and dish washing station. The staff were friendly and helpful. Theres a grocery store and Home hardware close by incase you need supplies. Another bonus is the resturants with delicious food close by. Its also a 10min walk to the beach and lake or just a quick minute drive over. This campsite is near perfect except the campsites are extremely close together and don't offer much privacy. However, I will still come back next year because overall me and my family had an...

We just loved the facilities at the Parks Canada campgrounds on Cape Breton Island. At this campground there are oTENTiks right on the water (35 &36) so book those if you plan to kayak in the beautiful bay. With finally sunny weather we opted for tent camping and were quite comfortable. Bathrooms are nice (though not as updated as the new ones at Cheticamp) it’s a nice walk down to the beach- and doable for the little ones too. Drive around and down with your kayak though. Sites are close together but fine and campground was nice and quiet. Happy camping!

We stayed in Otentik 35. Perfect location! Large green field outside that leads to a white sand beach. 5 minute walk beyond the beach to the best playground in the park. One side of the playground is a small beach and a huge lake we swam in every day. Fully maintained nature trails and nothing but beauty everywhere you look!
