This is the only place you should stay in Cape Breton. You might be looking around at other places...now you don't need to anymore since this is the spot you are looking for. The pictures honestly can't do justice to the environment John & Sherri have stood up RIGHT next to the beach here. THERE ISN'T A BAD SPOT IN THE HOUSE. We were upstairs, but all the suites have the same view/access that I describe below. We stayed here six nights...so this should give you an idea how comfortable we were when you read my listing here. So some reflections: 1. John is a phenomenal host. Servant-hearted, interactive, and highly skilled as your _personal chef_. 2. The floorplan of this place is perfect...you simply won't hear your neighbors. You WILL hear the waves crashing on the beach that is literally a stones' throw from your balcony which has views to die for. If you don't want that kind of paradise, I'm sorry for you :) . 3. The home is far off the main road, so you get the seclusion you are after unlike all the other spots along here. 4. Breakfast is exactly what you need: variety, sweet or savory, cared for AND the view from the chef's table is better than any restaurant you'll find nearby. 5. They create a warm environment. We made lasting friendships here with other guests! 6. The beach itself feels like it is your very own and they have a great gazebo for reading, thinking. 7. You need to eat dinner there. It's worth it. John and Sherri work hard and create a fantastic experience. 8. The value here is very good IMO. If we decide Cape Breton is a destination again, this is the only place we would consider staying.

Such an excellent stay. The room was so comfortable. You can tell that every small detail was important to the owners John and Kristen. The sheets, towels, decor, coffee, bed were all amazing; Coupled of course with an amazing view of the ocean. Aside from how excellent the room and view was; the breakfast and restaurant were truly amazing. My gf had a steak for supper and I had the seafood in a lovely pastry. The breakfast had an amazing french toast option as well as an omelette. Both were incredible. The family that owns this place were extremely pleasant and welcoming. Had great knowledge of the area and made great recommendations of areas to see. Overall I highly recommend this place as you embark on a Cabot trail journey.

An unique and pleasant BB plus fine dining experience. A relative new room with a great ocean view. A spacious contemporary washroom. A cozy deck with table and chairs. John, the host, nice and considerate, a professional chef, good at what he does. The halibut florentine was exceptional good. what a enjoyable and memorable day, hiked the Skyline trail, one of the best places along the Cabot trail, wonderful halibut diner, slept with the soothing ocean waves. The breakfast was outstanding as well, a tender version of the omelet, liked it so much.

We chose Williams Beach House based on the superlative reviews it has received and we can happily confirm that it is worthy of all the praise. Our room was large, tastefully decorated, and had a deck where you could sit out to take in the beautiful ocean views. At night it was awesome to fall asleep to the rhythmic sound of ocean waves. The lovely property borders the beaches of Ingonish where you can walk for kilometres and enjoy the magnificent views. John and Sherry are the consummate hosts. John is a trained chef and his breakfasts alone merit staying here. John though also offers the option of a gourmet dinner for his guests and it would be a shame to miss out on this opportunity, as the meal he provided us was worthy of a 5-star dining establishment (and at very reasonable prices considering the quality of the meal). We could not be happier booking Williams Beach House and hope to return again one day when the spell of Cape Breton Island lures us...

We stayed at the Williams Beach House on September 27th and really enjoyed the experience! Our room, the Sunset Suite, provided a great view of the ocean and we could hear the waves breaking on the shore. As we were the only guests that night, which we understand doesn’t happen often, we chose to dine in our room. John prepared an amazing meal! Apps consisted of the goat cheese salad and crab dip, entrees included the halibut and fruits of the sea and our shared dessert was cheesecake. Everything was delicious! Loved the fact that we could enjoy our own wine while we dined. Breakfast the next morning at the chef’s table was delicious, western omelettes, hash browns and toast, great way to start the day! John is a wonderful host and an amazing chef! If you’re looking for a change from large hotels/resorts be sure and try the Williams...
