We made this spot a great tradition every fall! Nothing but good to say, UNTIL October 2022. Since Covid obviously you don’t see anyone, it’s contactless check in and out etc, which is fine, we’re pretty self sufficient. For us cleanliness is key, first and foremost, understand that I have nothing against dogs lol, however, immediately upon entering our cabin the smell was a bit predominant, no biggie, we opened the windows, temps were 12degrees at check in 🙂 Our happy went to blah when we sat on the sofa only to find it absolutely covered in beach sand and dog hair. Still, no biggie, I called to see if we could borrow a shop vac… then it becomes frustrating, calls go to voicemail, upon walking up to the office knocking at the door you’re greeted by a locked door and directions to call, everything is contactless etc .. Probably the most frustrating part is noting the warning on the booking that there’s a fee, $25 I believe, for cleaning if you’re bringing a pet.. obviously I wanted it known that the mess wasn’t ours first off and aside from that we wanted a spare blanket to throw over the sofa to watch tv. At close to 300 a night I think the least this place could do is return your call when you leave your number, I’m not big on change but our fall tradition may be taking a detour around this place in 2023, I get the covid way of life but you still need to be available for your guests! We travel across the Maritimes year round and have for years, I’ve left two reviews online in my life, a hotel without functioning heat during our stay and this place without being properly cleaned or staffed, I don’t feel the need to complain about the little things but people need to do better than...
Read moreI will be spreading the word far and wide to stay away from this place. My husband and I had to cancel a reservation three days prior to check- in due to Covid in our home and the isolation requirements in Nova Scotia. Upon examining our reservation confirmation, we noticed that the cancellation deadline was one week prior to check-in. We both assumed that given the heavy presence of Covid in the province, any reasonable business would make an exception. After all, it was still three days prior, and on the weekend of our booking, every available accommodation in the area was booked up solid. The owner of this business was extremely rude and combative from the start and pretended to know nothing about Covid protocols in her own province and mocked my husband for bringing it up. She insisted we would be charged for the full sum of our 2 night booking. I asked if she thought it was reasonable or fair given the current very heavy presence of Covid in the area, to expect guests to anticipate contracting Covid a whole week prior to check in. To that, this nasty human being chirped, “Well maybe you shouldn’t have made a reservation if you were going to be stupid enough to get Covid”. After I picked my jaw off of the floor, I will admit my response may have included an expletive. I just feel it’s important for people to know the quality of “hospitality” they are dealing with...
Read moreThe chalets are in a very nice area surrounded by the Cabot Trail. Our two bedroom is great. They have a nice living room area and full sized kitchen. The bedrooms are fine, they aren't too small to use and come furnished with side table, lamp, clock, dresser, and a chair. The cabins them selves look very nice on the inside being made of logs. Only problem I've found was the beach, you have to cross the highway and walk through a small trail in the trees that I thought needed full shoes to walk safely down. Once you get to the end there are then stairs to walk down to the beach. I found it to be quite rocky at first until you get a bit in, but I did not go far as the water was quite choppy that day. But with plenty of beaches around the area it's not a big loss. The closest grocery store is very small and very expensive. Overall the place is nice and we'll kept, and I would probably recommend...
