So far we visit to the campground has been an experience. Advice to be here at 8:00 a.m. for first come first serve this was done and upon finding the spot was then advised that I have to wait until 11:00 before I was able to pay for the site, so 3 hours I waited. The phone arriving I parked my vehicle and went back for the motorhome upon getting the motorhome parked into this site the warden maybe showed up told me I had not registered the second vehicle when clearly front style was advising this they seen me with the car and I told him I was coming back with more home in a few hours for a party of four people. Within minutes more than Maybe was there. Second day going to work come back tired one out you've been sick and would car alarm and this instantly joined by the same lady good rides me that my generator was off site in the foilage and it had to be moved closer up onto the site as his first picture that's where it was but not good enough for the word news have to move it and then at approximately 4 minutes after 8:00 again where do lady fills up to advise me the generator times. I hope that she gets done advice concerns cuz I'm sure there's a hundred and some other people in here that might seek some attention from her and though I think she might be capable of giving them all intention for some reason she has seem to focus on us in our account but we have gotten open noise complaints we just got here and we haven't barely even been here regardless she's been here one two three four I believe five times a quick thumbs up have a good day she says. I think she needs your day off or give everybody else a day off because my opinion thing number two out of 12 I don't know if I can do this you seem to have a personal goal see that she never became a police officer she would have been good at that...
Read moreAs a first time visitor from Alberta this summer I've got to say this is a pretty magical place. My neck was sore from staring up in delight at the incredibly tall trees -- upwards of 90 meters/300 feet. Even the deadfall on the sides of the camp sites is awe inspiring in it's size. We never had any issues with being told to be quiet or hearing other people being noisy but we did stay out fairly late playing dice games by lantern light. There was a campfire ban on of course but you were allowed to use propane firepits which I noticed they would rent you if you didn't come prepared. I would recommend booking a spot as far away from the sanidump area as possible as there was a noticeable smell when we walked by and it is located in kind of a strange central spot. You must check out the waterfall swimming area located down a huge set of stairs on the north side of the campground. The Goldstream river trail was cool too but had some tough spots if you have kids or limited mobility.Very coldwater but it was welcomed on the days the temp was in the high 20s. There are plenty of outhouses with flush toilets (and some without) and a centrally located shower house. The showers weren't very clean and the water temp was shaky but we may save hit them at the wrong time, wrong day etc. Not going to make a blanket judgement based on the 3 days we were there. Definitely prebook a spot and go and enjoy this...
Read moreThe campground itself is lovely. We got the last space I believe. There were ‘bear in the area’ signs up but other campers had their space like a squatter site. Food left out, items strewn everywhere. I pointed it out to a member of staff but nothing happened. No one was at this site during our stay! So the food / open cooler was out at least 24 hrs Staff didn’t remove food left in plain site. Also folks smoking despite ban. There were at least 5 sites empty (within view of our site) whilst we were there despite the full sign at the entrance. Shame to be turning folks away when sites aren’t being used. Most folks are respectful and kept dogs on the leash/ under control however a few just let them run off and poop wherever. Again staff aware but not guiding people to correct behaviour. They have plenty of pit toilets with paper and sanitiser. Shower block was clean and sinks externally for your dishes. Drinking water taps were numerous too. Lady we met at gateway was lovely. It would be a great place to stay if inappropriate behaviour was held accountable. Lovely old growth. Walks by the river. Instead we didn’t want to stay as we had the ‘food campsite on one side’ and the ‘dog running wild, barking and popping on the other’. Staff should be empowered to help them deal with guests not abiding by the rules and detracting from the enjoyment of others. A great place let...
