I hesitate to write a review, because we want to keep the place a secret! We came for one night and ended up staying for six. A wide range of sites, from up on a bluff with full services, to right on the edge of the St. Lawerence without any services, are available. Sites are first-come, first-served, so it is worth getting up early to scout out the site that works best for you. The owners were gracious and tolerated our lack of french language skills. The big attraction here is seeing whales up close and personal. You can rent a kayak or just sit on the rocks. Whales come close enough to shore where you can see and hear them without binoculars. The park has clean bath facilities where showers are only a "loonie". Laundry facilities and a small cafe are just across the parking lot from whale watching benches. Not a place to party, the campground is ideal for communing with nature.

we were in the area traveling from NY and decided to stay 2 nights here and I am so glad we did! They do not take reservations so we go up early and headed over. when we arrived there was already a long line we were number 18 in line at 830am . I did not think we had a chance of getting a site but we did and it was perfect! I could see the whales right from my van window. the sites with the best views are small but that didn't bother me a bit. we went kayaking the next day and we had 2 porpoise go so close to us i could have touched them. we had to leave at 330am to catch a ferry and noticed 2 cars already in line so get there early!

What a great camping; whales galore! Large site overlooking the Fleuve St-Laurent. You can literally whale watch from the comfort of your RV/Tent. We saw over a dozen Minke whales and belugas in a couple hours. (Bring binoculars) Staff and ground crew were friendly and welcoming. They have on-site wood delivery in the late PM; wood was bone dry and reasonably priced. Although the shared facilities we mostly closed, due to our being there later in the season, they appeared to be impeccably maintained. Highly recommend if you're in the area; the campsite and whale watching are simply amazing.

We stayed in Cabin #2 for 2 nights. You need to bring your own bed linens, pillows and towels as none are provided. It has a microwave, refrigerator, table with 4 chairs, 2 beds Queen size with 2 thin mattresses on each bed and a fireplace looking type of heater that throws out a lot of heat. The bed was fair as far as comfort was concerned but I had no problem sleeping. It has a porch with picnic table and a line to hang items to dry. There is a parking spot next to the cabin which we didn't use as our friends who live in Quebec brought us here in their RV. There is a fire ring on the site. The bathroom/showers were only 1 block away. It cost $1 Canadian to take a 5 min shower. There is plenty of room in the shower area to place clean clothes and towels.||||This place is AMAZING to view whales. While I sat on the bench and my husband on the rocks a whale breached about 100 yards in front of us. We really enjoyed whale watching here! So many to see as they come close to shore. Don't forget to bring binoculars as the blue whales were further out. Next time we come it will be longer as this is a dream vacation for us it exceeded our...

We were so excited to go on this trip and had been organizing our northern Quebec getaway for weeks! It just took the receptionist at this establishment to ruin all the fun. First flag was when I called to reserve. I spoke with a young woman who seemed annoyed by the fact that a anglo-franco was calling and asking questions. Mind you I was speaking in French the whole time (I am an intermediate speaker), she was incredibly rude and genuinely uninterested to help me find the answers to my questions. You take a risk travelling to this spot for camping since it's first come first serve. Finally when we get there, I couldn't tell if it was the same person, but met with unwelcoming attitude and "figure it out yourself" style service. Finally after searching for a spot, you realize you're just one of 60 other campers fighting for a spot by the water. No intimacy. Not the camping experience you drive hours for. Overall, the hospitality of these people was devastating. We ended up taking a ferry to Parc National du Bic for a much better experience and views...

I have been dreaming to go there for years and when sitting on the rock watching whales it was spectacular but.... |I arrived on the site and I only see sign for ‘don’t’ and not forget to pay but no sign of welcoming at all. Also, no whales explanation and nobody at the kayak place. The worst is at the reception, the lady eas very not welcoming and told me to go and find myself a spot and than come back to pay. As we were on bikes, she recommands a spot. People just drive around to find spots for hours until all campsites are full. You have no intimity at all as all campistes are so close to each other and some are almost in the parking lot. When I came back to pay, a young girl, at least she was smiling, told me that I should not have take this spot ( recommandation of the lady). |The feeling is the owner wants most of people does no matter the ‘experience’. The site has been deforested to put more people. Also the owner using a golf car, I did not understand why! |I did not try but next time I will go to Mer et Monde, same...
