Our extended family booked a total of 5 rooms over the long weekend and we had a great time because we were all together but the resort is a different story. Front desk: my family booked 2 rooms and we kindly asked if we can have our room close to our kids’ room but the person checking us in just shrugged and said there’s no note on the reservation so they can’t do anything. Other hotels would at least try to find something especially since we checked in early but they did not. Our 2 rooms were in 2 different buildings! Then when we got to the room, they gave us the wrong key to the unit. Had to go back to front desk. They said oh the wrong unit number was written on the card and then blamed the other front desk staff for the mistake! 🤯 Off to a bad start. Room: we got to the room and overall you think it’s ok. Nice and big. Kitchen well stocked. But upon closer look, the dining table was dirty and sticky, crumbs under the table and on the sofa, coffee pot not washed properly. And then I realized that when you leave the unit, there’s a list of things you have to do for them. So the cleanliness is based on the previous guests’ standard and not theirs. So what does housekeeping do?? Even my daughter who worked in a hotel said that’s not how it works! Overall experience: we did not feel that the staff cared enough about their guests. At the arcade driving game, my son put the loonie in but the hame didn’t start. When we told the front desk staff (same people who checked us in) just shrugged and said they can’t do anything once again. Other hotels/resorts would have been more caring and offer a solution. Read moreI wanted a weekend away with my boyfriend for my 31st birthday first we enjoyed a wonderful couples massage at iwa spa in blue mountain and thought we had a hotel all figured out since we booked a month in advance when we arrived at the first hotel it was nothing but problems and we didn't even end up checking in I was upset and then found carriage ridge resort booked a room and off we went for the 2 nights appoun arrival I was having problems with my credit card why because of the other hotel summer the agent was nothing but helpful and made sure to remind me not to sweat the little stuff I booked threw a third party so could not even cancel the reservation at the hotel when my card would not work summer again was nothing but helpful we split the room cost so we paid alittle upfront when we arrived and the next day when my card transactions all updated and I could use my credit card again I went back and paid the remaing balance I was so thankful they didn't turn us away let me figure the card situation out and still let me enjoy my 31st birthday getaway I can't thank this resort enough and we will definitely be returning in the near future the rooms were beyond beautiful and the pool and hot tub were not over crowded and the temperatures were perfect thanks again for an amazing trip I...
Read moreWe were hesitant to book after reading some of the reviews, but I'm glad we did. Honestly I think the negative reviews are from people who did not read the hotel rules and check in/out times. This resort is exactly as advertised, it is a 3 star hotel, so don't expect all of the bells and whistles of a 4 or 5 star hotel. That being said, the front desk was friendly and helpful with tips about the area, all of the locale attractions and food options are on the bulletin board and there are some tourist pamphlets available.
The rooms were spacious, clean and exactly as advertised. We appreciated that there was a small kitchenette (fridge, sink, microwave and coffee maker). The resort is very conveniently located, a short (picturesque) walk from Vetta Spa and a quick drive (less than 10 min) to Horseshoe valley and other bike parks/hikes.
There are dishes/utensils and a BBQ area available for use, in case you want to cook. We didn't use it, but it was a nice option to have.
