We got there on Saturday morning. it was 5 families totaling at least 30 of us. Now I admit we earlier than our check in time but the guy John allowed us to check in, however by the time he got to me, and I was about to pay, his wife took over the transaction and told me that I had to pay $15 for checking in early. We agreed, though I thought it funny she charged us but not the other 4 families. anyways there was a storm the night before so the entire place was wet, muddy, murky and very cold. That's the kind of summer we are having! We were prepared so I had to suck it up and just go with the flow, since we can't blame the weather on anyone! But 3 hours after we were allowed in at the additional cost of $15, we were still waiting for a table and a fire pit. Twice we reminded them and one lady told me that they only had 3 people working there. I am sorry, but that is not my problem. They had no issue charging us for checking in early, but then could not provide that which was supposed to be available. Another thing, there are only TWO BATHROOMS!...and the system they have in place to get hot water in the shower is a nightmare! out of maybe about 25 of us, only a few was able to get it working right! The washrooms were many times out of toilet paper, one of two out of order and this is hard when there are so many people to use them. I know that since I was already there, it was only wise to make the best of this situation. Oh and I forgot, when the owner got to my reservation, after charging me the extra fee, she said 'oh we are trying to get you a secluded spot'. I assume this was because, in my specific group, it was just my husband and I. well do you know what was the secluded spot? It was up against the wire, right beside the main road and right next to the trailer where the owner had 2 cars parked! I know these are new owners and I am thinking as time goes way, they would improve but for a first time visit, it was not pleasant and I won't go back there. One of the families in our group was given a site to camp right next to all the recycle garbage. I am not exaggerating this story..I am telling as it was. The place had mud puddles all over. I mean, it just was not ready for campsites. It was nice that they had a mini animal show for the kid, they had craft sessions and a movie night. That was more on the pleasant side but too much negatives for me to recommend or revisit...Maybe in the future when they are really ready for campers, then I...
Read moreI waited over 2 weeks for an answer as to how much the season was. Then I got a lame excuse that their email hadn't gone through and they would resend it with the info. When I asked again, they said they didn't have any space and offered me the name of near by parks. After everything was said and done, they never said how much the season was. I wasn't asking for the top secret code to detonate an atomic bomb, all I wanted was an idea of the price and if there was space. I don't see what the big mystery is? After all, this is a business, and business owners want to attract customers not repel them, like these people seem to be doing. Nevertheless, while the owners may be "friendly" on the outside, they are not very nice. The previous owners were much nicer and accommodation when it came to park information. The big question is, why wouldn't they just simply provide pricing? What do they have to hide? Are they charging ppl different pricing according to who they are, or what they look like? Are they discouraging ppl from staying there because they want certain kinds of people? One will never know. It's a shame because it's a nice family park, but you wouldn't know it because the new owners are not very forthcoming with any...
Read moreWife and I tent camped here last Friday night and had a most unpleasant night. Quiet hours start at 11 PM, but at 11:45 there were still two groups of tent campers playing loud music. I asked them to quiet down, but that did no good. I tried to wake someone at the office, but the phone to use for assistance rang through to a disconnected number and the other buzzer button didn't seem to do anything. Finally after midnight I called the local police to submit a noise complaint. The police did come and the music stopped, but there was still loud talking for a while. The guy who runs the place showed up on his bike when the cops were there, but he disappeared soon after and didn't seem concerned about enforcing quiet hours. I talked to a couple seasonal campers while I was trying to find the manager and they said it's not the first time there has been problems like this with rowdy tent campers. I suggest you camp...
