We were travelling through on the long weekend. We'd left later than we'd originally planned and needed a place to stay. Almost everything was full, or had no pet rooms available. We lucked out and were able to find a space at the Coast Hillcrest. And, boy, did we luck out! We dealt with a wonderful gentleman by the name Adam at the front desk. He was kind, considerate, and very helpful. We got checked in quickly and were able to settle into our room in time to order room service from their restaurant. The food was amazing. Well presented, delicious, and worth every penny. They delivered it quickly as well. For my gluten-free friends, they have plenty of choices available! I had no issues finding something I wanted for dinner! The rooms are luxurious, and I wish I could take the office chair that was there home with me. I've never sat in a chair I liked more. Now, i mentioned our challenge was finding a pet friendly room. I have travelled plenty with dogs and this has to be one of the most pet friendly I've stayed. They gave us a dog treat for my friend's pup and have a walking trail they recommend for the dogs. They also have a place for you to sit with your dog downstairs to eat if you don't want to eat in your room. I can honestly say that I have plans to come back when I'm not just passing through. The location is peaceful and scenic with the hotel located at the end of the road. If you're looking for a place that is worth every penny and then some, this is where you're going to want to go. You will not regret. And, seriously, I'm going to need to find out where that chair from. I need it.

I stayed at the Coast Hillcrest for one evening as a stopover in Revelstoke. It is just outside the actual town, pretty easy to locate and has a wonderful view of the mountains. I had arrived in the late afternoon, and was checked in very quickly. I unfortunately could not upgrade my room to a mountain view (mine looked out onto the parking lot) as these rooms were all booked by a big tour company, so if you would like a mountain view room please ensure you book that in advance! The room itself was clean, but a few of the lights often flickered and it was quite dark with just a small window. Beds were comfortable. 30 minutes into my arrival, the power in the town had gone out (this is when I realized how truly dark my room was!! Bright outside, but the window did not let enough light in). I asked for a small flashlight from the front desk although the light from my phone worked much better. Nobody knew when the power would come back on (front desk staff had told me hopefully by the next day!!), but the hot tub with a beautiful few was still warm, which was a wonderful way to pass the time. It took about 2 hours before the power was back on, and as soon as it was back the on-site restaurant was serving food just in time for a late dinner. The staff were quite lovely in general and responsive. Overall despite some hiccups during my stay which were out of the hotel's control, because of its location, and the hot tub, I would return (and will request a larger window with a mountain view!).

We had a wonderful stay at the Coast Hillcrest Hotel in Revelstoke last week. We were looking for a little getaway with our dogs for our anniversary. We had driven by the property before and we had seen the large wooden sign, but we had not ever stayed here. What a hidden gem! We originally booked for 3 nights, but added an extra night mid-stay because we weren't ready to leave yet. We had a lovely dog-friendly room with a patio. We brought our own lawn chairs, which I am really glad we did because the lawn chairs on the patio were pretty broken down. The property has great views, 2 hot tubs, an excellent restaurant with local beer, and caring, helpful staff. We also really appreciate when hotels have a fresh water and coffee/tea station, like the one here. The hotel was a great spot for us to explore Revelstoke. The hotel was very dog-friendly, including: - a lovely trail and path around the property - lots of green space for the dogs to explore - dog-friendly common spaces including the upper lobby and lower lounge and the Mt. Guide Lounge - ability to order food from The Begbie Room and served in the dog-friendly Mt. Guide Lounge - a dog-friendly outdoor space where the hot tub and fire table were located - a patio off our room where the dogs could enjoy the fresh air - a welcome gift for the dogs - staff that enjoyed cuddling the dogs - there were lots of other dogs staying at the hotel at the same time as us, which was really nice to see

We’ve been coming to this restaurant since 2011, but after the experience we had this Monday we are not likely to go back any time soon. It was a half busy night, there was another gentleman in front of us when we came in, but we were seated within seconds of each other. Well, apparently he had a lucky table as he received menus and water straightaway, and then placed his order in a perfectly timely manner. Meanwhile we were completely ignored by at least 3 members of staff running around. After 15 minutes of waiting we still had no water, no one had taken our order, and no one came to the table at all. So we got up to leave and stopped at the door to talk to the manager. There was no manager on shift, but 2 members of staff absolutely assured us that we will be seen to straight away. They were very apologetic, offered to pay for one of our meals, and we made the fatal mistake of staying. Well, true, we finally received some water and even drinks, but another 30 minutes of waiting still did not bring us any food! So, after being at the restaurant for 50 minutes altogether we were still waiting to eat anything at all. Meanwhile, the lucky gentleman who was seated right before we were, not only received and finished his food – he was eating DESSERT by the time we lost patience completely. So we got up to leave for good and told the staff members just as much. This time the same 2 members of staff assumed a very defensive attitude, accusing us of being unreasonable! When I pointed out that it doesn’t take half an hour to cook a steak and a salad (as that was all we had ordered), they protested that it takes exactly that long because they don’t keep the grill hot enough (give me a break – steak was their special that night)! Also, we were proudly told that our order was placed to the kitchen right away – excuse me, isn’t that what should happen to every order normally, or do the waiters usually keep the orders in their pockets for 10 minutes before placing them? So, instead of giving our order any kind of priority to compensate for the first waiting period, we were placed in the general queue, and since the staff did not want to admit that – we were blamed for being UNREASONABLE for unwilling to wait longer than 30 minutes! Several people who came in way after us were happily eating, but that did not seem like anything unfair or unreasonable to the restaurant staff. In the middle of the heated conversation our waiter brought our plates out from the kitchen and the staff tried to guilt us into staying and eating our food. We told them that we lost our appetite and left. It was a totally wasted evening. In future we will think long and hard before coming back to the restaurant, shame really as it was the one reason we were stopping in...

Stayed here three nights with girlfriend as part of a weeklong vacation to Alberta/BC. Very satisfied with booking this hotel - just outside the entrance to the town of Revelstoke with a wonderful view of the mountains and nestled in the trees close to a highway exit with easy access to a local brewery to boot. Staff were courteous and professional, not overbearing at all and responsive to our requests (had to have broken ironing board replaced and also received additional coffee instead of having to pick up in lobby subsequent to first night's stay). We had the breakfast one morning outside with an amazing view of the mountains and, while the food itself was nothing extraordinary, it was a satisfying breakfast with great service and worth the view. The room itself I would rate as excellent - no musty carpet floor typically seen in a lot of hotels but rather hard floors with a very comfortable bed- firm mattress, large, plush and cushiony pillows- in fact, I would say this was one of the better beds I have slept in as I have found most hotel stays lately to be lacking in comfort and a good night's sleep.

Although relatively dated, the building and room was very well kept and clean - wish other hotels would take good care as it was evident that this hotel pays attention to details, and even with a somewhat older building have managed to keep it tastefully furnished and neat which made for a very cozy and comfortable stay. Nice touch with the packaged slippers included- these details matter and are much appreciated!

We had a nice little balcony in our room which allowed us to enjoy a nice cool morning view of the mountains with our coffee. We also got to enjoy the hot tub one afternoon which the staff were ready to make available for our usage on a short notice.

Another kudos- a $5/night credit applied should you wish to forego the room service. An "eco" promotion if you will while encouraging conservation. Smart and well received, a positive differentiator to other hotels.

It would be remiss of me not to mention the fact that our room had a jacuzzi. We didn't use it only due to our travel plans and lack of time, but it's a nice bonus if you want to relax at the hotel or in your room.

Overall, I would strongly recommend this hotel as a relaxing stay in Revelstoke. Very well managed, excellent and responsive staff, ample parking, terrific location with great views, and fantastic service from very professional staff. Thank you Coast Hillcrest Hotel for a wonderful and relaxing stay for me and my girlfriend! We hope to be back in future travels to...

Well the Hillcrest has some great things about it and some really marginal if not bad things. First, it's a beautiful location. Away from downtown nestled in the mountains with awesome views, especially from the hot tub. Lots of wood and definitely more of a lodge type feeling than a regular hotel. It's a quick drive from the resort or the town and I loved walking in after a long day of skiing to a complimentary spread of meats, cheeses, veggies, and entrees. They have a really nice bar and all the servers are exceptionally friendly. The downstairs has an ok workout facility and ok hot tub. Not bad. The rooms are nice and there's always a fresh pack of Starbucks coffee ready in your room. The few negatives I have are first the food. Oh wow, for how expensive it is it's pretty awful. I never had dinner there so hopefully that's better but I paid $17!!! for the breakfast buffet and it was absolutely terrible. Soggy eggs, soggy hasbrowns, frozen meats, and sad spread of fruit and pastries. I'd be over the moon if it was a complimentary breakfast and would eat there every morning, but for that price it's not even close to satisfactory. You're better off going into town to get breakfast. You'll save money and not feel disgusted. The heater in my room was extremely noisy and woke me up more than once throughout the evening. This was weird, but the sheets and comforters don't breath at all so you wake up overheating and sweaty but it's too cold not to be under your sheets. It was weird, first time i've experienced bedding like that. Beds are comfortable though minus the sheets. Last, I couldn't believe how rude the front desk lady was on my checkout. I have never experienced someone so cold, blunt, and unhelpful. I had an issue with my checkout and needed her to be patient while I was figuring out my credit cards and maybe let me check out a bit later but she wouldn't bend. Told me I needed to work it out before 11 or my card was going to be charged. Then as I was talking with my bank around 9 a.m. she authorized my card for the full amount without telling which froze up much needed money! I understand you're needing to get paid for my stay but to charge my card after I told her not to, before my check out time, without telling me was unacceptable. It created a whole other mess of problems and has caused a lot of issues for the rest of my trip and for my bank. I would have given this place 4 stars but the grumpy front desk lady completely ruined this place for me and I probably won't be returning or recommending it to...
