One of the worst experiences I have had traveling. Joined family at the hotel last minute due to a family situation, was not in for a vacation (who would stay in Headingley for a vacation anyways?). Walked up to the counter with family who had already checked in and asked for a room. They easily obliged and proceeded. Set me up with a room on the spot. All good. Told me I had an expanded room, whatever, all I wanted was somewhere to sleep for the night and didn't need anything spectacular and expressed that. Then entered room they had me in... Nothing wrong but nothing special, but charged $15 more than the couple I was staying with for the "expanded room" which was just the handi-cap suite, which they expressed as the expanded room for sales purposes. Entered the room, heat was turned off so it was cold to start. Tried to close the curtains to take a nap as we were going to do some diner later... Curtains had a liner that closed but the curtains did not. Light came through. Whatever, it's just a nap. Meet the rest of the group and do diner and whatnot after the "nap". Go back to room later and figure I'm just there to crash for the night no big deal. Then a vehicle drives past flashing their lights as they turn the corner thru the room. No curtain, no blocking of lights. And it continued to happen a few times through the night. Bad nights sleep after traveling all day. but figured I'd get some sleep later and wake up just in time to check out... Nope. Housekeeping decided to vacuum the hallway at 8:27am waking me up early and with no curtains, I couldn't turn off the light to get back to sleep once they were done. So I decide to take advantage of the breakfast... dried out "cheese omelets" in a steam table, not good sausages in the next steam table, and warmed up frozen hashbrowns in the next steam table. a pancake and waffle bar on another table/bar (which others said was very good, but I did not try). Continental breakfast would have been tolerable if it wasn't for the hotel staff waiting for the clock to turn to 10 to close it, not sure if it was so they got the left overs or just so that task was done and possibly their shift over, but having them sitting in the room waiting for the clock to flip so they could remove it was Bush league.
Upon checkout I was not asked how my stay was, just took my keycards and printed me a receipt. By someone I saw come take leftovers from the breakfast. Complete joke of a stay. Would not recommend. And will not stay ever again.

I read reviews of this hotel over and over daily searching for other people’s comments on all platforms on the internet- And let me tell you-this hotel is AMAZING!
From check in to check out we were treated amazing.
The front desk clerks were super friendly and helpful with everything.
We got to our room, which was the suite with a kitchenette and WOW! It was so clean and comfortable, I felt like I was at home. The suite had freshly clean dishes and dish soap, a stove with a hoodrange, the room had a door to separate the living room pull out couch. It was fantastic. I always double check the beds and generally sleep ontop of the blankets with a white towel as I’m always paranoid, but I was so amazed at the cleanliness of this hotel -I was actually comfortable sleeping under the blankets! A+ to the housekeeping staff!!!!
The pool was clean and super fun! My 7 year old could touch the bottom as it wasn’t deeper than about 1meter. The slide was fantastic and the water park area was amazing and extra fun to swim around. The maintenance man cleaned the pool every morning and checked the water throughout the day. Top notice service!
Any questions we had, the front desk helped right away! All with friendly welcoming smiles on their faces.
There was a free coffee machine in the lobby that had fancy coffees, cappuccino, hot chocolates, lattes etc. unlimited throughout the day/night. In The afternoon, juice was served at the main desk as a grab and go. It was great!
Breakfast was tastey. Had waffles, pancakes, eggs, hash browns, pasta, toast, cereal , fruit, juices and pastries. It was awesome !
If your like me and don’t have a credit card- this Best Western accepted a cash deposit, then at checkout had a worker run up to the room to check for damages then refunded the cash. It was an extra bonus!!!
There is a Denny’s restaurant and a Flying J gas station right in the parking lot. Very convenient.
We felt super safe in this hotel.
All attractions were about 5-30 min drive down Portage Ave. Which felt like a really fast drive.
All the workers were fantastic and deserve a raise!! A+++ HIGHLY...

Asked to speak to manager and was told that wasn't possible, but they would do what they could. When the woman calmly responded, suddenly a large, menacing woman (supervisor) came storming out of a back office saying the elderly woman was being threatening. I did not witness anything threatening about this tiny, elderly woman who only wanted courteous service. She walked away frightened by this Supervisor.
The pool was over capacity by 25 people on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at 3:30pm, so unable to swim. Checked again on Monday, March 25/24 at 6:30pm and over capacity by 12 people, so again no swim. This is law and is no joke. Went back to pool again at 9:30pm and still too full to swim for myself and another disappointed couple, who informed me the hot tub isn't working at all. I book rooms based on having a pool and hot tub! Occupants should be advised, as I have been at other hotels! When I spoke to front desk staff about it I got a very rude, blunt "Well what do you expect when you book during Spring Break?" Unfortunately I did not choose when my loved one passed away!!
Charged $20/hr for late check-out, but only until 1pm. I've never been charged, at any other hotel, ever, even another Best Western!
There was 2 bags of hockey equipment sitting in the lobby Sunday night until Monday morning (7pm till 11am).
As I returned from the funeral on Monday at 5:45pm, there on the lawn at the front entrance lay 4 beer bottles. I let the front desk know, they said thank you for letting us know. Those bottles were still there at 8am on Tuesday morning. I have a photo if proof is required!
When I went to check-out at 11am on Tuesday morning, wet children were running in and out of the pool area. The floor had a 1/4" of water all over the lobby and nobody mopped up the water. It was treacherous to say the least.
When I asked to speak to the manager on numerous occasions, I was refused. I've never been unable to talk to a manager at any other hotel, including...
