Hillcrest Motel — Hotel in Saint John

WARNING, BED BUG INFESTATION!!!!! I made the mistake of staying here for a bit while working. When I first moved in the place was NOT cleaned there were dirty face clothes left in the bathroom, the fridge was disgusting stained and sticky. When I brought it up to him he said the people that leave at the end of their stay clean the rooms, which is not how you run a motel you should obviously have house keeping and make sure everything is sanitary for the next guest. He also asked me to handle the dirty face clothes and bring them up instead of cleaning it himself. THE WORST PART: I WAS BIT ALLL OVER BY BED BUGS. When I brought it up to him he didn't even flinch, wasn't worried at all. Durring my stay I found 5 bed bugs that he refused they had. I do not recommend this motel to anybody. Dirtiest place I have ever been. The owner is so rude and has no consideration for guests. It is INFESTED WITH BED BUGS. The place is also full of addicts, they try to break into rooms and steal...over all 100% do...

While this hotel looked feasible as a low cost stay, it was a mistake. The rooms and furnishings were run down as was the bathroom. Our lights did not work at all and there were no bedside lamps. The light situation was figured out when I noted that the main light switch turned off the fan and the light bulbs were simply unscrewed to allow the fan to run at night. ‘Why not open windows’, you may wonder. There was a trade off with this endeavour as there were no screens on any window so air was available if we were willing to put up with bugs. The final nail was the loud party in the room next to ours. If just confined to their room, the party would have been a nuisance. However, multiple people right outside our window, drinking and swearing from 2 am to 4 am was too much. If you are DESPERATE for a mattress to sleep on, and no more, this might be the place for you. DO NOT STAY HERE! I’ve stayed in a lot of cheap motels this way by far the worst. The rooms are filthy, there was no curtains in the room, no toilet paper stains on pillow cases bugs in sink drug paranphenalia in drawer burn marks on floor, fire alarm hanging from ceiling with black tape over it. I am itchy now. Homeless guy was sitting infront of our door when we got back to room tattoos all over face with his bike knocking at our door. Was wakened up at 3am to someone trying to kick doors in I was terrified this went on for quite awhile. I almost called police. A female voice shouted “as if you didn’t hear us kicking at the doors don’t lock us out again I should smash everyone of your car windows.” Called the front desk multiple times but no one answered.
