My husband I checked in on Sat may 3rd/25 for a birthday trip, we always pick the Dunes because generally it’s been great fun so thats why we chose this resort. HOWEVER we checked in so excited to just have a mini vacay WELL checked in our room looked like someone randomly STILL LAYED IN THE BED BEFORE making the bed, there was hair🤢 on our pillows(believe me I have photos) so I went to front desk showed the pictures, great we get a new room👍 so we can continue our stay, when booking we requested a 12 pm checkout, awesome however at 11:40 Sunday morning the maid is trying to enter the room, so I infact explained that we had a 12pm checkout and we were hurrying to check out as we had a family situation and rushing to get home, keep in mind we live over 2 hrs away. So in the midst of packing up and feeling rushed we proceeded to check out. So I go to check out and our front desk human NEVER ASKED AT ALL how our stay was he never even said hello he basically just gave me my receipt and that was it.. keep in mind I was the only one checking out at this time. We got home and unpacked and realized I forgot my flat iron and curling iron, so I phoned and not ONE MANAGER COULDNT EXPLAIN WHERE MY ITEMS WHERE🤷♀️ REALLY WE JUST LEFT 2HOURS AGO POINT A TO POINT B, I knew I left them to cool down before packing but feeling rushed I forgot to pack the items , I in fact contacted the hotel explaining that I forgot my 2 items in the bathroom so they checked nothing NOTHING WAS TURNED IN.. NOTHING 🤬 interesting as I DO NOT HAVE THESE ITEMS, its been 5 days and no explanation 🤔 funny I guess these items grew legs and left the resort🙌||SO CHECK LIST||UNCLEAN DISGUSTING ROOM UPON CHECK IN☑️PHOTOS CAN BE PROVIDED which was showing immediately as we entered the room||CUSTOMER SERVICE ||FRONT DESK UPON CHECK OUT WAS COMPLETELY RUDE NEVER ASKED HOW OUR STAY WAS EVEN THOUGH I REQUESTED A NEW ROOM UPON CHECK IN AS ROOM WAS GROSS||SO GUEST SERVICE ON CHECK OUT WAS HORRIBLE NEVER SAID ANYTHING AT ALL NEVER ASKED HOW OUR STAY WAS OR ANYTHING JUST HANDED ME THE RECEIPT SOO TERRIBLE SERVICE ☑️||ROOM SERVICE well lets see have a 12 pm check out but maid tried entering the room at 11:40 so feeling extremely rushed||HANDLING OF MY LEFT ITEMS CLAIMING THEY DO NOT HAVE THEM.. Read moreThank you for having us. Great to have a swimming pool and hot tub. During the weekend there were LOTS of kids, and maybe there were a few families so that made us hardly do very successful laps in the pool. I was surprised that there were NO TOWELS at the gym room/swimming pool. I would appreciate if people like to play around in the swimming pool they can at least leave a line or two so we don't need to be afraid of pumping into someone when we swim. It was quite snowy so we also would like to thank for those who cleared the snow in the carpark and surrounded areas. We didn't bet but my friend bought a coffee (very costly purchase at the Tim Hortons there...) and we enjoyed some entertainment inside the casino. We had quite a full schedule so we haven't tried the restaurant. Yet I thank for the friendly staff because our room doesn't have any tea bags at all and the operation staff asked us to go to the restaurant ourselves. The hospitality and kindness of the restaurant staff really warms my heart. There were around two rows at the side of the carpark where the cars can have plugged in. Depends on the availability when you get there so if you find an empty spot then you can have your car plugged in especially during the snow and super cold days and nights. I shall thank myself to have the confirmation from the staff there before we went there. Because I did make the reservation and obviously they already charged my credit card. However when I called the day before they couldn't find my name and said probably the booking was not yet made. The irony was after we arrived, they called us when we were out during the day and said there was a double booking. Thank you. That means actually I did have a booking by phone but don't know why they couldn't find my name. Though they might spell the name incorrectly but they get back to me in the same number. Read moreFirstly I read all the reviews to compare with my own families experience and I have to say this Hotel is not overrated and the food is most definitely not over priced. However I do believe a little more finesse needs to be added to operations. When we arrived I could not enter the hotel. The automatic sliding doors would not open so I manually opened them while hauling all my families luggage. Also when we got to our room we found the phone was not working and neither was the tv. I went down stairs joined the line up for checking to let them know of my issues. The girl polite as she was told me that there is issues with power currently and running on generators hence why some things are not working. Ok that’s fine these things happen but why not put a sign up on the doors and why not inform guests on check in of any current issues. I’m 47 with kids and no longer enjoy riding up and down in elevators. Those days are gone for me. Also when we checked out the kids wanted to spend an hour in the pool we had all our swim stuff visibly in our hands and we went up to the pool to find it was closed for maintenance. Again why did the checkin staff not inform us of this? Food! Ahh the food is amazing. Really it is. The food here would put many restaurants in Saskatoon to shame for quality, uniqueness and price. I even took the time to find out about the chef and he came out to visit us. The chef that came to our table is from Austria. My family and I live in Saskatoon and when the kids tell us they want to go to a hotel which is often then we jump in the car and come here. The staff are friendly the breakfast is awesome and puts many other hotels to shame. We are a family that stays in hotels across Canada regularly for business and for pleasure.
