Need a getaway but have young children? Check out the Beach & Breeze cottages in Breadalbane PEI! Extremely clean, lots of green grass with a kids park (meant for young children ages 3-8) that’ll give parents a well-deserved break. Cottages had fridge stove coffee maker with decent coffee and basic kitchen stuff (pots, pans, plates cups and cutlery) along with towels Water pressure was excellent and the staff are extremely nice and down to earth (be sure to say hi). Place had picnic tables - we brought chairs but didn’t even use them - patios for each unit that all look over to the west. It’s close to everything you’ll need on a getaway: Cavendish Boardwalk is 5mins away, Timmyz (if that is your thing) is close and there is a market for all gear and booze if you need it (generally priced). In the back: tonnes of space to run around without ‘the fear of losing the kiddos’, 2 massive fire pits with a sunset view that’ll make you want to take pictures with your loved ones. Has a well-maintained clean (non super chlorinated) pool in and with a swing set that overlooks the ocean. There are toys - you can bring them, but don’t be surprised if they are not used. In the front: an open field where one could literally ‘go-fly-a-kite’ and access to a lil beach just in case you don’t want to leave I spent 4 days and I loved it. Perfect for a young family, older couple or a family reunion (which was our case) Go ahead, check it out and book your family a well deserved getaway - your family will not be disappointed.

The location is nice, with decent views, and the unit as a whole was reasonably clean. The toilet had not been cleaned properly when we arrived (we disinfected it as well as we could), and the toilet seat was loose (we had to tighten the screws, otherwise it would have been unusable). The toilet still emanates a strong urine smell, we could not find any strong disinfectant in the room to fix the issue. The king size bed, although very comfortable, came with only two (old and flat) pillows, and one thin fleece blanket. I went to the owner to ask for a couple of extra pillows, an extra blanket and a kettle, he must have found those requests strange because at one point he burst laughing. Our cabin (#12) is not in great shape, esp. outside (see picture). The bedroom window is unusable (needs to be fixed), and the front door lock is getting finicky and likely on its last miles. In the cupboards, we found ONE wine glass and TWO forks (a regular one and a dessert one). We first had to wash the plates and utensils we used, as they didn't look clean. The yard fronting the shore has several mismatched items, some poorly maintained, and frankly looks kind of sad. The place definitely needs some TLC.

This is not a place i would ever return or recommend to anyone i like. The whole property is in a state of disrepair and the lack of upkeep is concerning. For example, the fence around the pool has hard gaps/holes that a child could easily crawl through. The interior of the townhouse style accommodations is tiny with odd decor choices and well poorly stocked (don’t count on there being any specific kitchen utensils or supplies, there is a random assortment of mismatched things). The toilet had water sitting behind it and the place smelled of urine (only noticeable after I removed a very strong air freshener). The owners responded quickly when I emailed them about it, came and advised they fixed it and gave my husband 20$ for an air freshener (uhm, thank you?). Be prepared to hear your neighbours. The spindles on the decks are wide enough that a baby could probably fit through. I would just say find another place to stay. This isn’t it. It may seem like I am complaining a lot but these are the things I wish I known before booking. The pro would be the view and the kids did enjoy the playground (again, not maintained well). It was nice to be able to watch them on the playground from deck.

I’ll start this off with saying I am not one to leave bad reviews..ever but for this one I need to be honest and up front about our experience, as short as it was. I always look at the reviews when looking into places and I never seen a whole lot of bad reviews on this place when we booked and thought how awesome is that. |So, we stayed there in cottage 3 in mid July. The cottage is dated and had some weird kitten stickers on the wall over the couch. It was clean and the beds were comfortable, I’ll give them that. The view is beautiful and the grounds seem to be well kept. |The first night we were there we seen a couple earwigs on the wall and when we went to go kill it, it scuttled back into the wall where there was a small hole and we never really thought anything of it. There’s always a few bugs when it comes to cottages and PEI. The next night the three of us were squeezed onto the love seat watching a movie before bed time and something was crawling in the couch next to my shoulder (another ear wig). I got rid of that one and so I thought to pull the couch off the wall in case they were crawling up the wall and onto the couch. The couch was not touching the wall but when I went to pull the couch out a bit anyway, a bunch of them scuttled across the coffee table next to the couch and on the floor. I’d say about 12-15 in all. That was enough for me and my family to be completely grossed out. I’m not sure if it was the cottage infested or just the couch but where’s there’s one earwig there’s many. All the cottages are connected so I only assume they’re throughout the whole unit of cottages. ||The next morning I talked to the gentleman working the front desk, told him the situation and would have taken another cottage (not connected to the rest) if any were available but none were so he gave us a refund which I thought was kind of him. ||So, if you don’t mind lots of ear wigs in your living space, you’ll probably like it there but I am not one who wants to pay over a grand to stay in an infested cottage. ||I have a picture of the couch and the lovely kitten stickers but none of the earwigs as it wasn’t a priority...

My family of 7 adults rented the Chickadee cottage in September 2025. We were lucky to get off season rates but the weather was like summer so that was great! The view here is incredible and the Chickadee cottage is huge so it had plenty of room for the 7 of us. 3 queen beds and 2 twin. One bed is in a loft so not much privacy but all in all, it was great. Also, there are 2 bathrooms, each with a shower! So awesome for 7 adults! Essential really :) The cottage itself was very retro, lots of nooks and crannies and neat little surprises that I can't describe but you'll have to see for yourself. It's rustic, to be sure, but it's nice enough, especially for off season rates! Also, the pool is nice, we used it 3 times! A few frustrations: we asked for extra hand towels and they are very stingy on these. We needed one in the kitchen but they said, no, only 1 per guest! We needed oven mitts, nearly burned our hands many times as we cooked the entire time. We heard some weird electrical noises (arching someone thought) and we tripped a fuse once, but we found the fuse box in the bedroom by the 2nd bathroom and were able to get it going again. Finally, there was only 1 tiny scratched up frying pan. I wish hotels wouldn't use Teflon pans because people use metal utensils and scratch them. We had to broil our french toast and bbq our breakfast meat, just no room in that tiny scratched up pan! All in all, though, we had a great time and were...
