I went on the Shuck and Sea tour last Tuesday with James and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. My second time on the island, I wanted to learn more about all those oyster farms you see as you cross over creeks and along the bays. I have a better understanding now as to why oysters are so expensive. It's a labor-intensive and long process to grow them! It was a beautiful morning to be out on the water, James was a fun tour guide and I ate more oysters before noon than I ever have in one sitting. Thanks for the souvenir shucking knife and lesson in shucking. I continue to hone my skills. I'm not ready for a competition, but I haven't had a shucking accident yet either. If you're considering going on this tour, just go...
Read moreThis wasn't so much a tour as a one hour sit down discussion in to how Rasperry Point grows and harvests their oysters and several other oyster brands that they process. I was hoping for more of a look in to the process with some hands on time but in the end we learned how the process works and then we were able to ask all the questions we wanted about oysters and the business. Very informative!! We also learned how to shuck the oysters and then ended up eating as many as we wanted. Highly recommended tour and come with any and all questions you may have. Exceptionally...

Considering how engaged other people were we were obviously not the only ones enjoying this activity. We had the chance to taste many types of oysters. They were DELICIOUS. We warmly recommend this activity to anyone curious and wishing to learn...
