My family has been renting a cottage at Pigeon Lake Resort every summer since the mid 1990’s. My daughters were just little girls when we first rented there and they are now 35 and 31 with young families of their own. I love sharing this special spot with my girls and my grandchildren now! Watching them fish off the same dock that they fished off as kids absolutely melts my heart!
The resort owners, Wayne & Karen Haagsma bought the resort just over 20 years ago, and they have made phenomenal and continuous improvements to the cottages inside and out and to the entire property each and every year! Rental fees are heavily reinvested in maintenance and improvements and it shows!!! They have managed to steadily add value and improvements while maintaining that “cottage feel” all around.
The Haagsma’s have always run the resort as a family and I think that is part of what makes it so special to me. I have watched their 3 daughters who are close to my daughter’s ages grow up. And now I get to watch our grandchildren grow up and play together when we visit each summer.
If you’re looking for a cottage resort that will make you feel right at home and part of the family for your stay, this is the place for you!
Thank you Wayne, Karen & family for ALL that you do to make Pigeon Lake Resort such a unique and special place! You are...
Read moreMy husband, our 2 boys and I went to Pigeon Lake Resort last week (Aug. 6 - 13th) and had a blast! The cottages were well taken care of and come with some nice perks such as Wifi and Satellite TV... which came in handy when we wanted to get the kids out of the sun for a while. We got to enjoy BEAUTIFUL sunsets every night and Wayne and Karen were very accommodating. The beach is great! Lots of sand and the weeds in the water have been cleared out so the kids weren't stepping on seaweed. There is a floating raft in the water that provided a lot of fun for the kids (and adults) while swimming. They also provide kayaks, paddle board and paddle boat that are available to use free of charge. The office/store has some basic grocery and personal items available for sale if you've forgotten anything as well as candy, ice cream, ice and bait. They also offer board game and book rentals if you find yourself looking to fill time. I would highly recommend this place for anyone (especially families) looking for a cottage get away. I've read some other reviews and people have complained that the cottages are dirty etc. This is not a hotel, it's a cottage and it's rustic. Do not expect the Hilton. The cottages are well maintained, and had everything we needed. Can't wait for...
