My experience was a 2/5. This campground is not great for tenting and definitely not great if you are backpacking have no car. I believe this campground is much better for RV and semi long term use. It has hook ups for RVs and dumping right at the site which I can see is convenient.

The bathroom facilities are new, with many sinks and stalls, three showers and one of which was out of order. The showers cost 3$ for 8 minutes but I timed it and they were only 7.5 minutes. It took me half that time to figure out how to get it warm, but even then the water pressure is so little that I could barely rinse my hair. There is no excuse for this in a new facility for an amenity that even has an additional cost. They are cheap on the water. There is very convenient and clean laundry facility which I was happy to use.

The campground is situated on the ocean which I think is the best feature. It is also right next to a native reservation.

The tent sites are pathetic and overpriced. No trees for shade, your view is the back end of the RVs in front of you and you get up close in personal with their sewage lines. Each site is given a picnic table however a few of them were not in good shape.

For 47$ they should just not offer tent sites and only go with RV sites.

No bear bin to place food as I was on vacation and didn’t have a car yet. Staff states there are no bears but without a car where should one put their food? Surely not in your tent if there’s even so much of a raccoon or bird it could tear through your tent. I was forced to either walk to find a tree to hang my food or place my food in a less than favourable location.

The road noise near the tent sites is unbearable! The only way you could get a good nights sleep here is if you booked a more expensive RV site on the ocean further away from the road.

The front desk staff were friendly. Overall don’t come here for a natureful experience or...

We booked four of the five cabins at Snaw Naw As for a weekend getaway and birthday celebration and loved everything about our stay!

The cabins are clean, beautifully decorated and the kitchens are stocked with everything you could possibly want. Samsung and Smeg appliances, all cookware, dishes, cutlery, grill tools, bbq on the porch you name it and it's there ready.

The main area of the cabins is open bright and beautiful with a comfy pull out couch. The bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed with crisp, clean bedding and the bedside clock has wireless charging. There's a full sized closet with sliding doors to hang clothes and store luggage. Heat and AC to keep the cabin at whatever temperature you prefer, but having the doors and windows open so you can smell the ocean breeze while the two large skylights let the natural light pour in was how we spent our weekend. Each cabin has a dedicated hot water tank so you can have an long hot shower with good water pressure.

If you're bringing a tent or RV, the brand new washroom and shower area is impeccably clean, smells great and likely exceeds any campground or public change room/ washroom you've been in prior.

We will absolutely be staying here again to enjoy the beach, the ravens, herons, eagles and other wildlife you can see.

There is a Shell gas station and Tim Hortons just a short walk on a paved and well lit path up the hill for coffee and snacks however, the location does seem to be just outside the delivery radius for Panago, Domino's etc. so plan ahead for late night munchies you can heat in the microwave or...

Has great potential. The washroom facilities are brand-new and fantastic. The staff member with whom I dealt was terrific. However, the campground is basically a gravel pit on the water's edge. If you are lucky enough to be on the water, then I guess the $60/night (after taxes, etc.) camping is worth it, but I was in an unfinished spot with construction waste and very uneven ground. I had to ask for a fire ring, and while there were literal stacks of picnic tables around, there wasn't one at my site. Maybe a reduced rate for the sites that aren't finished yet?

And as I went to leave this morning at 7:00 when the gate was supposed to be open, I couldn't, as the gate was not open, and the staff member had not arrived. I had an appointment in town, so this was very frustrating. Another camper who had a key ended up letting me out (although begrudgingly).

All in all, I'm not impressed with what there is for the price. There is much nicer available at the same price or less. I...

We stayed here recently in one of the cabins at the campground. It was a lovely stay. The cabin was comfortable, clean, and well-stocked. The kitchenette area had a two-burner stove, a microwave, a kettle for using on the stove, a toaster oven, and plenty of dishes and utensils, plus there was an outside barbecue for us to use. The campground staff were really helpful, too. The beach area is mostly mudflats but it's super fun to explore and look at all the small crabs and clams and the view is beautiful. The campground is convenient to Nanaimo, but a little ways out of town, so it was great to come back and relax each day we were there and not feel like we were in the middle of town. We'd absolutely stay here again next time we're in the area!

Second time visiting this campsite and love it. Staff are friendly and helpful. Washrooms are modern and clean (plus hot showers!!). The location is perfect for us as it’s 20 minutes from downtown Naninimo and 20 minutes from Qualicum beach. I like that there is a shell and timmies right up the road. Most campsites have hookups which I like as a tenter to charge my tech. Wifi reaches to the far campsites and has a strong signal. The water is warm and great for a dip. We enjoy walking through the tide pools and have seen lots of cool stuff. Sunset is amazing too. Only cons are some highway noise and campsite are close together with no privacy. But I don’t mind as we spend most our time exploring the area.
