I don’t know when I’ve had a better hotel stay and I’ve stayed in many. It’s a modest-looking building, with a retro 70’s look that I liked but it’s been completely renovated & renewed, top to bottom, within the past year It’s right off highway 43, next to the river and many of the rooms offer a great view of that river and the well kept central courtyard. The young, energetic management are right on top of things, are very responsive to guests and all of the staff are friendly and welcoming. Like all of the hotel, the rooms are scrupulously clean, with plenty of room and everything is fresh, where it belongs, and it all works. Beds are comfortable and there are plenty of towels and supplies. The food is great, it’s reasonably priced, and it’s available all day. Take note, the inclusive breakfast features a choice from a full menu, all prepared on order. The sports bar off the lobby has a full bar and also offers a full menu until 10:00, making for a great place to relax at the end of the day. What could have been stressful trip for me wasn’t, thanks to my stay here. In fact, I felt so comfortable and at home, I managed to forget some of my things, which I never do. Arrangements were made in less than 24 hours to forward them to me. If you or the people who work for you are considering staying...
Read moreArrived around 9pm. The Male Clerk was amazing. Quick, friendly, an overall a breathe of fresh air from a long trip. C\I went smoothly. Room was clean, and comfortable, bathroom was a little small - very little counter space & the shower head was low, heater is also the AC so it was a little different. Kept the room nice and toasty but it did keep turning on and off a lot to do it. Had 2 hockey teams in the area and after 11, we never heard a peep! Had supper in the bar and the food was great!! Server again was very friendly and knew her stuff. Day shift Lady was awesome as well. Very friendly and quick. Even gave us a heads up about the roads. The hot breakfast was interesting. The drinks are self served. There is no waiter\waitress to take your order. You have to go up to the kitchen and order from the cook. I'm not sure if they were busy before we came but almost all the tables were filthy, and there were only 2 tables full of people. When we finally did order our food (once the other guests told us how) the young girl behind the counter was the complete opposite of the staff we had already met. Not rude but not friendly either - perhaps she is shy or new and in training? Food was good. Just can't say much for the service. Overall, we had a good stay. We will...
Read moreThe hotel, staff, room & fireplace, etc were excellent!|Just a couple of comments to the Manager. The friendly check in agent didn't tell us that our room was not located in succussion and there were no directional signs. I was on 3rd floor. I went down the hall 3 times... 301, 302, 305, 306. I was very tired & so frustrated. When I went to the elevator to go back to the desk I put my bag down and out of the corner of my eye I saw my room tucked in the corner beside. I get downstairs to meet my brother in the lobby with my sad tale and he had the exact same story! His room was also sneakily in the corner out of order on the 2nd floor. He said he also walked down the hall 3 times and he even went all the way thinking it might be at the end of the hall. It's not safe for anyone to walk the halls alone. |I wanted to sleep in after several days of long travel. At 7 am the cleaner was outside with her cart banging and vacuuming the hall and gym & woke me up. I was so ticked. I get that she wanted to get her work done early but later I watched her standing and talking at the front desk. She could have vacuumed later. |Aside from these 2 annoyances I highly recommend the hotel. Kudos to all the staff...
