Connell Park Campground — Hotel in Woodstock

Feeling very ticked off with the service I received and we didn't even get a chance to stay there....

We wanted to come and stay for old home week so i called to see if they had any sites left over a month ago and was told they were booked but would do some checking and put me on a cancellation list.... I was told if something came up within the next few days she would call me.... I waited for a couple weeks and heard nothing....

I knew the chances of getting a place to stay were getting slimmer and slimmer so I found an available spot at the Howard Johnson for Friday and Saturday and went ahead and booked it....

My husband and I both work so we didn't get away from Sussex until around 3pm or so and got up here around 5 or so..... We checked in and went to pick up supper... while we were getting supper I got a couple calls from the camp ground.... I answered the phone and was asked if we were coming to the camp ground or not? I was thrown a little off and said "no... nobody called me back so we are at the Howard Johnson" I was then told they had a reservation for me and had turned other people away.... and then she (Lisa) told me if I was to try and reserve again I would have to pay up front..... I was like really???? Pretty hard to keep a reservation when you don't know you have one..... don't worry Lisa I won't be trying to...

I would suggest this campground is over priced for the price you pay. I have paid similar rates at other campgrounds that provide free WIFI, nice clean, working bathrooms, showers and laundry facilities, a well maintained kids play ground, maybe a heated pool and other amenities. They are lacking or nonexistent at this campground. No web page, just a facebook site with very little information. No welcome sheet to tell you anything about the campground or where to find anything. No mention of any amenities when checking in. If you go for just a water and electricity site instead of the full hookup be aware there is a $30 fee to use the dump station on top your site fee. They seem to be more interested in making a buck rather than any customer service or experience. I would not recommend this campground to any...

Stopped here after a long day on the bike. The manager ( sorry, I missed your name) was super friendly and set me up quickly with a spot close to the comfort station. $25 for no services....$35 if you want electricity. She even provided some laundry detergent for me. Showers are free, and laundry is $2 each for wash and dry. There are a couple of restaurants ( A&W is closest) within walking distance. Overall a...
