I would never in a 100 years recommend that place to anybody! Better stay away from it. We arrived there this morning after having a chat with the owner about possible surfing classes. We were also looking forward to the pool and chose this place because they had breakfast included in the price. ||Once we got there all the reasons why we chose this place unfortunately didnât work out. The pool was closed. The breakfast apparently was not included. Even after showing the owner Lorena my confirmation which said black on white âbreakfast includedâ, she didnât seem to bother about it. Surfing lessons could not be held even tough we asked about it via Whatsapp one day before and there she said YesâŠ||All in all this is not at all the worst part about it. The worst part about it was how unrespectful the owner treated us. Not even a tiny bit of understanding instead she said she doesnât want us here if we are nothing but trouble and if we donât leave she will call the police. We stayed calm until that statement and after that we just left this awful place. (Loosing deposit, several pretty expensive uber drives and a whole day that could have been a nice day in Arica) ||Despite to that Arica is a nice place and there are quite a few other options to spend your...
Read moreMy stay at Phuqata was the best experience on my worldtrip. I've stayed in so many hostels but no vibe and atmosphere is compared to the #phuqatafamily. The hostel itself is huge: you have heaps of chill-out areas with tables, hammocks and couches. Not to forget the big pool, ping pong tables and even an air soft area. It's like a big fun park here.||All the volunteers and guests are hanging out together, having great talks, singing to the guitar or cook together. The host Antonio is such a lovely, fun and open-minded person and takes you to surfing or other cool places. He's connected so well in Arica so you got the chance to hang a lot with locals.||If you're happy like me that a surf-contest is in town, he takes you there and you experience the real surfer life.||The bed's are comfy, the rooms are big with balconies. The shower is hot and the Wifi is AWESOME! They have a big kitchen with oven, stove and microwave. A mini-market right next door if you need last-minute food or drinks. Oats, milk, cereals, tea, coffee, bread + jam are included. ||I could go on endlessly but all in all the stay couldn't be better and was much more than I ever expected. I will definitely come back some day! Thanks for...
