Hotel guests appear to be a total irrelevance for this property, as its only priority seems to be in group activities of which there is a succession: for breakfasts, wine tastings, weddings etc. Indeed, we were, quite frankly, treated like dirt - so very unusual in Chile! Check in was unhelpful and information provided incorrect (apparently, we were even allocated the wrong room!). An unhelpful, arrogant waiter took us to our very tired room (drapes falling off rails etc), complete with disgustingly smelly toilet, no AC and not even a fan. Being on the ground floor and overlooked by the courtyard, where all the functions take place, it was not even possible to open a window! It was like being in a dark, smelly dungeon! All hotel information is provided via a QR code, which is hardly helpful as the WiFi is very poor! We strove in vain to get a map to enable us to walk around the estate. We did enjoy a good dinner which was ably served (by Lucas), though we were disturbed to see a rat running along the corridor while we dined! Breakfast was a total disgrace. We were eventually shown to a large dining room, with only one other couple dining, to see the aftermath of a large group’s (20+) breakfast. – it was a horrid sight! The buffet was totally decimated, with no crockery, milk, juice and many items finished – just empty bowls. After asking an insolent waiter to rectify the lack of key items and receiving a nil response (as his only concern was clearing the large table) we sought out the front desk. At which point, cold eggs arrived! Coffee was abysmal and cold. It was during our interaction with the front desk that we discovered there was to be a large wedding taking over the whole hotel and our next breakfast would be served with them! Further, the wedding reception was taking place in the courtyard outside our room! We decided the only course of action was to leave the hotel, rather than endure our scheduled 3 further nights. A visit by the Director of Operations did nothing whatsoever to restore our confidence, in fact the opposite. A dire and unfortunate experience,...
