The rooms provide no privacy. The bathrooms open to the main corridors without windows, only doors. Same with the rooms. Opening the doors is the only way to get air circulation. There is no a/c. One must open the doors for any air. The food is unhygienic. We felt ill after eating dinner. Because of the intimacy of the rooms, we heard other guests violently evacuating their bowels. After a week in Chile, this was the only time we were ill. We were never that ill afterwards in Chile. Many guests were ill. Some Matetic employees may be coordinating with crime rings. We went to one other winery after our stay before continuing our journey. A cross-section of employees likely knew where we were headed. All of our belongings were stolen from our vehicle at the other winery, including wine from a 3rd winery. The Casablanca police indicated that, in their investigation, the thieves visited Matetic, another winery, and the winery where we were robbed. The only worldly belonging item of ours remaining was a repositioned bottle of Matetic syrah. It felt like a mob hit or a rejected clip from Game of Thrones (“I want them to know it was me.”). I asked the staff to call the police to provide information that might be helpful to the police report. They refused. This may all be unfortunate coincidence, but the correlation is all too strong for me not to let others know.

Read moreFirst impressions of Matetic Vineyards are calm and serene. Chilling out in the beautiful courtyard is very peaceful.
The Rosaria valley which is owned by the vineyard is picturesque. We went on a guided bike ride. Christopher the guide was very knowledgeable and told us about the growing of the vines and the other agriculture in the area.
Included is a tour of the winery. We had a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide called Justin who talked us through the organic and biodynamic ethos of the vineyard and finally we had a tasting.
The rooms were very spacious and comfortable, luxurious, a great shower and the wifi is pretty decent.
The food is very good and the breakfast spread is great with the best juice we have ever had.
The only reason I dropped a star is that we don't feel it would be good for a long stay unless you are prepared to pay for lots of extra excursions. We visited in winter where the pool is freezing so we didn't really have that as an option which is probably why we felt this way.
Overall a great stay,...
Read moreIn the serene Casablanca Valley, Matetic Vineyards offers a luxurious and immersive vineyard experience, blending world-class wine with picturesque landscapes. This biodynamic vineyard is known for producing some of Chile’s finest Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc, and I had the privilege of exploring it all during a private tasting session led by a passionate sommelier. Walking through the vineyard’s rolling hills, I learned about Matetic’s commitment to sustainable practices, which made each sip of wine feel even more special.
Lunch at Matetic’s Equilibrio restaurant was a highlight. I enjoyed a sumptuous meal that celebrated Chilean flavors—pairing each course with wine crafted from grapes grown just a few steps away. The ambiance was both rustic and refined, with stunning views of the valley. The peace and tranquility of Matetic Vineyards made it a perfect escape from the city’s hustle and bustle, leaving me feeling rejuvenated and deeply connected to Chile’s...
