This hotel was by far our favorite during our trip to Chile! My husband and I travelled with our 6 month old daughter through Chile for 2 weeks and we spent 2 nights at Refugio Pullao. We regret not spending more nights there! Staying there was the highlight of our trip.||The nature, the views are absolutely breathtaking. Luxury hotel Tierra Chiloe is right next to this place and shares the same views - we felt like getting the value of a luxury hotel for a much lower price. The architect of the house did a really nice job designing the rooms and the property overall. The windows are large - you can watch the sunrise from your bed :-) the bedroom is very comfortable. It was amazing that we could step out of the room and be in the middle of nature - with the ability to watch birds, ride horses etc. You could even go on the roof of your room and have an even nicer view. The place was so serene! The food was really great too. There is an excellent restaurant nearby - Rucalaf - which delivers to the hotel. The hotel also offers a home cooked menu at a very reasonable price. The breakfast was better than in other places we stayed at - local, fresh produce. The place is run by a family and therefore has a very personal vibe. ||Before I booked the hotel I was hesitant since the place had so few reviews. Perhaps this is the case since it opened only a couple of years ago. Also, when I mentioned to the family that I am surprised the hotel isn’t booked out during holiday, they mentioned that they haven’t had much time for marketing yet. ||We whole heartedly recommend this place to anyone who is planning a...
Read moreWe were very lucky because we managed to visit Chiloé when there was a window for non residents to visit the island during covid restrictions. ||It was a very surreal experience because there weren't many tourists except for locals from other parts of the island. ||Refugio Pullao is one of the most magical places I have visited in Chile, away from civilization (but close enough to Castro), surrounded by amazing landscape and hosted by their extremely accommodating staff.||This hotel will give you the chance to explore nature at its best, starting with the stunning views, their attention to detail on how to blend in with nature and their approach to local food.||Waking up to the sound of nature followed by the views from your room directly to the bay, it simply gives you a boost like no other.||Their staff is simply amazing, they cook everything with locally sourced ingredients and are always there to help make your stay as pleasant as possible.||You can also enjoy horse riding (actually more than that as they have a ranch), relax in their open air hot tub and even try their local lamb barbeque.||If you are planning on visiting Chiloe, look no further and book this place for your entire stay.||Thank you very much team for hosting us in such...
Read moreMy family (2 adults and a 4 year old) had a lovely stay at this cabin - it was a highlight of our trip to Chile. The home is spacious and cozy, with stunning views and high quality linens.||Carlos' team (Paulina + Dora) were amazing hosts - proactive, kind, and always ready to help, even with the little things. When we arrived home each day, a cozy fire was crackling. They noticed my daughter loved the fresh juice at breakfast, so they packed extra in a to-go bottle for her.||Don't miss the gorgeous breakfasts and dinners on offer; it was some of the best food we had in Chile.||Note: the cabin is up a steep track. We are city dwellers who don't often drive, so if we had not arrived with a driver in a 4x4, this might have been a challenge. Relatedly, it is a 5-7 minute (beautiful, downhill) walk to the main lodge, but the team was always available via Messenger for assistance, and to drive those with mobility challenges / tired legs back up the hill.||All in all, I think this rivals a more "famous" luxury accommodation in Chiloe which you can see across the way from Pullao's property -...
