To stay at Los Maquis Hotel is to experience the true heart of Chile. The town of Buchupureo is beautiful, simple and pure. You get both a pastoral paradise and a sleepy, seaside town. ||||And at the heart of it all, there's Los Maquis. The owner, Arturo, is intelligent, generous and kind. You'll feel instantly at home sharing a thoughtful conversation on the porch, with Negra, one of the property's friendly dogs, napping at your feet. The rooms are comfortable and clean, built with care by the owner himself. And a perfect stay is made better with thoughtful touches, like shampoo in the shower and a fresh, local breakfast in the morning. ||||You remember a place like this because it's everything that's good in life. It's worth it. ||||Thanks for a...
Read moreThe place is situated somewhat outside of the villages, but the main places nearby are within a radius of 1-15 km. Some small things did not work, like the light on the nightstand without a light bulb. In the airbnb listing it says Cobquecura when it actually is in Buchupureo. Although there is a hot tub as advertised, the water doesn't seem to having been changed for weeks but the owner maintains that it is water from the nearby creek, pure and drinking water quality, but unfiltered. But nagging aside: the place is built with a lot of care and taste, and gives an overall welcoming warm and modern feeling. The rooms are comfortable, modern, but not over-the-top luxurious or pretentious, the bathrooms are excellent, spacious, and very well thought out. Everything is kept very clean and beautiful. There is no particular view from the room, and you better have a car to visit places around there. But it certainly is one of the best places to stay in the region. I'll return gladly for a...
