We stayed here for 3 nights.|The experience was exceptional. Rooms were extremely comfortable, warm and well appointed with a spectacular full height glazed window overlooking the turquoise River Baker below.|Staff were all so helpful and kind to us making us immediately welcome - nothing too much trouble.|Chris (Chef) made the best meals we have had yet on this 5 week trip around Patagonia- all fresh ingredients from local sources. Bread and cookies a real bonus.|Sebastián- barman/waiter/sommelier was the perfect host and Estaphano a brilliant organiser, local knowledge guru and cloud expert! Beautiful location. Lodges nicely situated but some remedial work needed. The main window blind was disintegrating, on arrival the room was absolutely freezing and the boardwalk steps down to the river were extremely dangerous with the handrail collapsing on use in several places.|A very good breakfast although the dinner despite being well presented was pricey. There is no choice of menu except for the set meal and due to the remoteness of the lodge you are a captive customer.|A word of warning...I would advise having cash or a debit card to pay your bill as our two credit cards were declined within a public arena which was both embarrassing and concerning. A magnificent place to discover. Stunning views over the marvellous Rio baker and the mountains, this hotel has only 7 exquisite wooden beautifully arranged bungalow cabins, ensuring you absolute peace and communion with nature. Bungalow experience is state of the art and so cosy. Service (Herman, Sebastian and team) in Borde Bake Lodge is excellent, very friendly and proper. The cuisine is a real plus in this remote region. The chef (Cristobal I think) prepares exquisite cuisine with high quality local ingredients. We are French and very much into great cuisine and we were fully satisfied and pleasantly surprised.
