My wife and I stayed at the Diego Almagro Lomas Verdes during a vacation in Concepción. The location was tough, but it can work.||The hotel is very close to the airport, off a major highway (access only possible from northbound lanes). There is a large mall just down the road, but getting there on foot could be dicey (walking, the Santa Isabel 1km south may be easier). There is a free hotel shuttle, however bear in mind it only operates certain days and limited times.||The hotel appears modern with clean rooms and nice facilities and reliable wifi. We had a problem with a hairdryer that was fixed very quickly. The pool and exercise room were empty whenever we went which was nice. Breakfast was good; nothing fancy; they had slightly more on weekday mornings when there were more guests. Most days there were very few people around; we had dinner there one night (tasty) and we were the only people around.||We used the hotel as a base to explore Concepción. While we couldn't walk anywhere, we made good use of the shuttle (the driver was nice about picking us up) and taxis. The front desk staff were kind when we dropped by or called, and forgiving of imperfect Spanish. We did have one not-great night when there was a party in one of the rooms on the main floor (we were on the second floor), and the music came through loud and clear via the air vents until about 10:20 PM...so maybe consider a room on a higher floor.||In the end, a good stay...
Read moreI stay in this hotel on a monthly basis spending about $500 each time in the hotel and adjoining restaurant. They bill our company direct. Historically, this has been a smooth process but this week, I started to notice a change in the restaurant... a change of attitude (for the worse) and a change in the amount of food offered on the buffet. Most of the employees know me and greet me but this time, everyone was almost rude... especially from one of the managers who was working a group dinner one night.||||this whole situation came to a head when I went to check out... the man at the reception desk started to tell me that I had to pay for the meals in the restaurant, which I could have done, but I knew better... they had always billed the home office for all my charges. So he backed down but demanded that I pay the tip that was automatically added to my bill... again, I knew historically they had always billed the home office. Again, I could have paid it, no problem, but I did not like this guys attitude, so I decided to call the home office and let him talk to our executive assistant, who arranges all these details. ||||In the end, the primary problem that I had with this visit was the poor attitudes displayed by the restaurant manager and the reception desk. In the end, I told the guy that we need to find another hotel, and he blew it off. So that's exactly what I...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel because one of the locals told me that Diego Almagro hotels were good... (they meant the one downtown not this one) but unfortunately the other one was booked so I decided to stayed here (the worst idea ever!). The hotel is really hard to get too, we were driving and it took us almost an hour trying to get in, very complicated. The staff is really unhelpful, the rooms don't have basic things like a not disturb sign or lock on the doors. The service at the restaurant is one of the worst I've ever seen, the food tasted old and the breakfast is really poor. ||When I asked for an adapter for my computer, they just told me no, we don;t have one and we are sorry, so after I got really mad, they came up with one (what's up with that!). The only person that was nice and helpful to us is the guy that is in charge of the parking lot, he really should look for another job because this hotel is not a good...
