Ocho Aguilas Eco Lodge — Hotel in Coquimbo

The Ocho Aguilas Eco Lodge offered us a peaceful respite in a tranquil rural setting – a nice relaxing break from the constantly connected world, while still being very close to the beaches and attractions of Guanaqueros and Tongoy. The cabin was very comfortable and practical, with everything we could need, including a living and dining area, two separate bedrooms, bathroom with hot water, and a fully equipped kitchen. A unique and delicious breakfast, including some wonderful homemade arepas, was brought to our door in the morning - right at the time we agreed on the night before. But even with all this, what impacted us the most was the kindness shown by our hosts, Patricia and Torsten. They provided us with all the information we needed prior to our visit, including maps and directions. But they went a step beyond and offered to meet us on the road so we could follow them to the lodge – a gesture of hospitality that we will never forget. The hosts have made the lodge easy to find on the dirt back roads by placing direction signs (thank you!).||Our private cabin was lovely and had everything we needed. Cabañas bien equipadas, a excepción de tv, pero es algo que te explican al momento de reservar, en cuanto al camino son como 5 minutos de camino de tierra, no muy bueno pero apto para todo vehículo. Quedas a 10 minutos de Guanaqueros y a 40 min aprox dependiendo el tráfico de Coquimbo. Camas comodas, al llegar encontré que las frazadas eran pocas, íbamos del sur, pero las noches son cálidas en septiembre y no fue necesario pedir más. Los dueños muy atentos, si bien el calefont no funcionaba muy bien, ellos siempre dispuestos a solucionar el problema. Si vas desde una ciudad ruidosa y necesitas descansar tus oídos y desconectarte de todo, es el lugar ideal. La única complicación en nuestra estadía a parte del calefont, fue que andábamos con 4 niños y al llegar en las tardes de los paseos, se extrañaba el ruido de la tele.
