It has the best view, for a hotel. It has the best hosts, for a hotel. It has the best decor, the best beds, the best staff, the best walks, so many ‘bests’ I am tired to writing ‘best’ for a hotel. It combines lodge with hotel and does it brilliantly. ||They own the land you hike in; water falls, streams, trees and views of the volcano Villarrica sprinkled through out like confetti. Wonderful private hiking, it is a privilege to have it for your self. ||Nearby is the ancient forest of Araucanias, close to the Argentinian border. It is without doubt a botanical exposition of Chile’s finest forest life and biodiversity. Extraordinary, not to be missed. Pretty, dramatic and historically important. ||Our hosts arranged for us to fly by helicopter over the volcano, no words for that. With my linguistic skills, I cannot come close. Just trust, it is expensive, but a lifetime experience. I am grateful and in awe. ||From a 3 days stay, the saddest was the day we left. It is in the countryside, it to disconnect, it is to ground, it is to live. If you want bars and restaurants, look else where. If life is about the journey, let this is a way point, it is one to come...
Read moreWe stayed at the Kila Tai Tai Lodge in early November of 2023 and loved the place. From the moment we drove onto the property and were greeted by two adorable dogs with wagging tails and the calls of bandurria birds we knew our stay wouldn't be average. Our host, Marcos, met us as we drove up, checked us in and settled us in our lodge. The property is extensive and offers plenty of hiking/jogging trails as well as a hot tub, luxurious accommodations, peace & quiet, wi-fi, breakfast and an amazing view of the Villarrica volcano.
Marcos was a super helpful host and served us breakfast in the lodge each morning as well as dinner one evening. He was very knowledgeable about the area and pointed us to a great hike near Lanín Volcano through a monkey puzzle forest. We also enjoyed an afternoon trip to an amazing thermal hot springs called Termas Geométricas. Well worth the time.
I would highly recommend that you stay for a few days, settle in and enjoy. The night time view of the glowing volcano under the southern...
Read moreWow! What a wonderful stay we had at Kila Tai Tai Lodge. The rooms are beautiful- all with amazing views. The staff at the lodge was extremely hospitable. Paul and Veronica are wonderful hosts. Paul makes a mean pisco sour. Cecilia is an incredible chef, cooking with vegetables straight from their garden. There is no need to leave the lodge for your meals because they were THAT good. The rest of the staff at the lodge (Gaston) was extremely helpful, too when we had issues with a tire! ||||I cannot speak more highly of this place. There are multiple hiking trails on the property, that I would never tire of exploring. We enjoyed lots of relaxing walks with the dogs that live on the property. The town of Pucon is not far and you can definitely still go enjoy everything the town has to offer, including adventure activities. Then, return home to relax at Kila Tai Tai!||||This place is a MUST stay if you are in the area and I only hope we can return one day! It was our favorite part of our entire...
