We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Maunga Ro Eco Lodge! Nestled on a beautiful farm with stunning ocean views, this place offers the perfect balance of seclusion and convenience. While it feels wonderfully remote and peaceful, it’s still very close to all the key sites on Easter Island, making it easy to explore the island without feeling isolated. The lodge itself is cozy and well-maintained, offering a true sense of privacy while still making us feel completely at home. The surroundings are serene, with the sound of the nature in the background and plenty of space to relax and unwind. What truly made our stay special were the owners. They were incredibly warm, helpful, and welcoming, always available to assist with anything we needed while respecting our privacy. Their hospitality made us feel like part of the family, yet we still had all the space we needed to enjoy our time alone. If you’re looking for a place that combines the beauty of nature, comfort, and genuine local hospitality, Maunga Ro Eco Lodge is an excellent choice. We can’t...
Read moreMy partner and I had an AMAZING stay at Maunga Roa Eco Lodge. It is family run and they are incredible people. We would go back just to visit them. The bungalow was immaculate and so beautiful. You could tell they took a lot of pride in it. We really enjoyed waking up there and having coffee on the porch while looking at the waves from afar. Beautiful grass for yoga, they had bikes for us to use for a 25 mile ride around the island, and they were also so flexible with the rental car. Carli, our host, even offered to meet us at the airport to do our final check-out so that we could enjoy the island with the car as long as possible. She was extremely kind and generous. Maunga Roa even left us fresh eggs and a few pineapples that were grown in the garden right outside of our door. Rapa Nui was so special, but the main reason we want to go back is for the people. This Eco Lodge was beyond perfect. We only wished we...
Read moreI wish I could give this place 10 stars. Maunga Ro Lodge is THEE place to stay when on Rapa Nui. Carla is an absolute sweetheart and a phenomenal, attentive host. If you communicate ahead of time, she will pick you up from the airport and has cars available for you to rent (~$70 usd per day). Its located out of town, but no more than a 10 min drive. It’s also located along the road up towards Anakena beach. It’s in a gated area so its very secure. The lodges have great water pressure, spacious for a couple. My only recommendation to Carla is to put screens on the windows to avoid Mosquitos. The views of the sunrises in the AM were a treat. If anyone I know wants to visit the island, I’m...
