We had a brilliant stay and was planning to extend but got called back to the UK urgently. There are many highlights and absolutely loved the lodge and cabin. Brilliant location, lovely set up, great facilities and views. Also good food and wine. Ruben, the manager couldn't have been more helpful and I pushed the limits due to issues outside our control. He helped us before we arrived as we were very uncertain as to whether we would be able to get there let alone to Chile and then when we got there couldn't have had a better host and felt like a friend. Thanks Ruben and we wish you and your wife all the best for the future. You have a great place.||||Some more information that may help others. This part of Northern Patagonia/ Carretera Austral is an adventure in itself to get to, that's part of the fun. There are 3 ways in unless you have the time to come up from the South. Either a 4.5hr ferry from Chiloe island, 12hr from Puerto Montt or the 4.5hr double ferry via Hornopiren. We did a circle with the shorter ferries. From Chaiten it is a 2 hr drive, half on very good dirt road and half on tarmac, we had a higher clearance 2 wheel drive and no probs just watch your speed. I looked at every place along the Futuleufu and Puyahuapi roads and this stood out. It is not one of the few $500+ a night places or at the other end the cheaper in town hostels. It sits in the middle and pretty much unique. It is in a great location for rafting and if you can I think you have to do this while you are there. Futuleufu is 30 mins drive, part of which is...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of spending a week at Peuma Lodge with family and friends - in total a group of 10 people - at the end of 2022. The property is well located outside of Futaleufu, close to the many activities available in the area. The property is also extensive and guests can spend time outside walking the fields, trekking up the mountains and visiting the Pinillas glacier lake. The cabins are well designed, comfortable and well maintained. The food is amazing, under the care of a Chef and well organized team. You can get a massage, sit by the fire, use the hammocks to read a book or simply hang out with guests in the terrace. The most important feature at the lodge is the friendliness and support of the staff. Ruben and Carolina run the lodge with much care and a big heart and the staff, Araceli, Francisco, Franco, Alejandra all follow suit. We very much enjoyed spending New Year at Peuma and our activity with Francisco trekking up for 8 hours to the glacier lake (in the back of the property). You will definitely leave Peuma with a smile and a promise...

Ruben is an amazing person and an incredible host. Peuma lodge is located in a breath taking forest clearing with a gorgeous view of the surrounding mountains, a small river crossing the grassy land, it's absolutely perfect.
We stayed in a specious and beautifully decorated wooden cabin with the MOST comfortable bed we had in our entire 2 months vacation. The place had a fire place that keeps it warm and cozy. The bathroom was very big and luxurious, it was a pleasure.
We were arrived after a long drive and spent 2 nights. Although there are many trails and other attractions in the area - with which Ruben can help you - the weather was rainy so we decided to stay in and had the most comfortable stay we could ever hope for.
We got to use the hot tub and sauna, play ping-pong in the club house, walk around the wooden paths and read a book by the fireplace in the beautiful common area and it was absolutely magical.
Ruben was so attentive to anything we needed!
We would 100% stay here again if we are...
