Cabañas MarSerena — Hotel in La Serena

We stayed here for the July 2nd Solar Eclipse. The location was wonderful, the hotel is a stones throw from the beach (which has a super active and lively boardwalk), and the property was very charming. I loved the private cabanas, they were equipped (at least in ours) with two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen (with all the things one needs), a dining / living room, and a porch. It felt very spacious. Given that it was July, it was very, very cold at night, and the one tiny fireplace didn't do much, so the property set us up with space heaters for the bedrooms -- that was a life saver! If you pay the full price fixed to high season, so you are losing your money or maybe get regretted later. I paid around 90 USD a night and this was ok considering a fair breakfast is included and that the hotel has a very good location. Not quite room with a view but a quiet little group of holiday cabins that are clean and tidy, pool , pretty average breakfast but ok. Close to the beach , the beach is well maintained and not full of rubbish, we were here shoulder season and it was still quiet but the place gets silly in the hot summer months.||This beach side area does not ring my bell as it is like a gold coast in consruction phase, no character, no soul, ||the hostel type cabanas were good and the price was right.||try the seafood soup it is great throughout...
