When I go to the area of Valdivia, I always stay in the big city. But, sometimes the way between the Panamericana highway (5 sur) to the city, is awful due the traffic. ||||It takes 50 km to get to Valdivia, but it only takes 25 km (20 min) to get to Mehuin, through an empty paved road. I discovered this place through some very good references. The ocean sight is beautiful. But what brought me here, was the reference about the Regenboden hotel and restaurant.||||This place, run by its owners, is a call to the resting. The old building has been enhanced with very delicate details. The non-native pines and eucaliptus have taken too much terrain, but here, the owner has saved and resown the native forest, giving your lungs a super oxigenated air and a smell that catches you even before entering the building.||||Going inside the hotel, the first thing you see is the restaurant with its wooden-handmade furniture and a lot of handcraft made by local artisans. The owners receive you with the friendliest smile in the whole area; they may even join your table. They have lived in a lot of countries and, in their hotel, they have developed their own style. ||||The food is nothing that you could have seen in other restaurant. You won't get fried food or the typicall chilean dishes, but incredible seafood dishes with an exquisite presentation and taste that can change the worst mood. The best, at a very good price. Do not forget the cakes! The maracuya cake is just unforgettable.||||I didn't have the chance to sleep over here, but I can tell that the rooms and the beds clamor you to stay here. This is the place to stay on the Chilean Ocean in Mehuin if you want a clean, beautiful, cultural, and down home feel; a quiet, green refuge in this awakening seaside village. The proprietor, Jorge, is an excellent cook, and he and his staff are kind, efficient, knowledgable and helpful. We were directed to the important, pertinent sights and experiences in the area and also enjoyed good cooking and good wine. Das Hotel-Restaurant liegt im Ort Mehuín, ca. 31 km westlich von San José de la Mariquina (das wiederum ca. 50 km nördlich von Valdivia liegt) direkt im Ort mit Blick aufs Meer. Im Ort gibt es außer ein paar rohgezimmerten Bänken für Picknick-Touristen der Mapuche-Communidad keinen Tourismus.||Das Hotel mit dem seltsamen 2-Sprachen-Namen ist also in dieser Gegend der einzige Stützpunkt für anspruchsvolle Reisende, und das zu einem günstigen Preis - Es ist dieser Form neu und entstand ca. 2003, hat aber einen "abgebrandten Vorgänger" aus 1944, von dem nur der Kamin übrig geblieben ist. Die Neugründung, zunächst unter dem Namen "Nogal", erfolgte durch eine Deutschstämmige. Heute führen Tatiana und Jorge (eigentlich: Georg Meyer) hier die Geschäfte - fast ohne Hilfe, er in der Küche (im Garten, in Wald und Feld....), sie im Service und im Hotel.||Ihre Leistung ist ohne Abstriche ausgezeichnet!||Was sie da auf den Teller und den Tisch bringen ist sehr gute, einfallsreiche Küche, zumeist "aus dem Meer" (versuchen Sie mal die Reineta-Lasagne). ||Das Haus ist peinlich sauber, alles funktioniert, auch eine hier notwendige, aber seltene Zentralheizung. Die Zimmer sind klein, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und haben Seeblick (bei Zimmer N° 8 "um die Ecke"), überall findet sich geschmackvolles Kunstgewerbe.||Der Chef des Hauses hilft auch bei der Planung von Ausflügen. - Wer es alleine möchte: Fahren Sie über Queule nach Norden über die Küstenstrasse Richtung Toltén und bewundern Sie die Riesen-Strände ... völlig...
