WE LOVED THIS PLACE! My husband and I stayed in the second week of March. Even though after my thorough research this hotel was our second option, the other place was not available for our dates. However, we were so fortunate to end up in Refugio Misterios del Elqui, this place is wonderful!
With a unique downhill style, every cabin is different and separated from each other giving you a lot of privacy. The cabins have an outdoor terrace and are fully equipped with all the essentials, they're privet, quiet, cozy and super comfortable to stay, the breakfast is served to the room every morning and is a very accurate and good version of a Chilean- continental breakfast.
The hotel includes free Wi-Fi, privet parking, barbecue area, and dining area, an indoor and outdoor bar, laundry service, outdoor pool, hot tub, spa services with natural medicine, touristic information, mini-golf, bikes and a stunning garden all around the hotel that includes a beautiful cactus area and that it is a very well representation of the weather and the flora of the area.
By day beautiful views of the valley and its interesting contrast between the desert hills and the rocky mountains against the vineyards and green life from the valley in the middle of that beautiful garden. By night the stunning, unique and incomparable view of the milky way in one of the clearest skies of the world in their own backyard, laying on a blanket or one of their garden lounger with your favorite person and a glass of wine.
They recommend an excellent horse ride with a local guide who gave us a trip to the mountains and talk about some history as well as a personalized astronomical tour in a privet observatory with an astronomy guide in the next town.
Their personnel is outstanding each one of them is placed to help us and make our stay as pleasant as possible they were very aware of the town and what to do or where to eat.
I must recognize that we were there in the end of the summer so we had the whole place almost for the both of us or we were sharing the pool with two or three people not even for a very long time. Thank you guys for everything! I'm really looking forward to stay here in my next visit to the...
Read moreA little worried when we pulled up at night, small winding narrow street and tiny sign, almost missed it. Oasis is hidden behind a huge fence. Parked on street and rang bell and quickly was greeted by the most friendly lovely man from registration who is always there from 2-9 pm. He informed us there was gated parking for our car just a little bit further up. He checked us in and took us to our casita/bungalow. We are a family of four and this two bedroom house was perfect. It was extremely clean with crisp white welcoming linens. The kitchenette was stocked with all essential tools. It was heated and just lovely. We were greeted by the cutest kitten outside on our patio every morning. The breakfast was brought to our door every morning, hot coffee fresh pan amasado, a protein (eggs or cheese or avocado) fresh squeezed local juice, fresh fruit and fresh marmalade. It was a treat to wake up and not have to go anywhere to eat before we took off for the day exploring. It was winter so we did not enjoy to hot tube or gorgeous pool or mini golf putting green. Unfortunately we booked it because it had its own observatory but it was too cloudy to use and the tour guide astronomer did not come out any of the nights we were there. We had to check out early in the last day and they were able to get us breakfast prepared the night before so we wouldn’t be hungry. We walked into town for dinner and to hang out at the plaza, 9 min walk. It’s location was amazing and the gardens and surroundings is breathtaking. Highly recommend if...
Read moreLocated at the end of Pisco Elqui, the Refugio Misterios del Elqui has an undeniably beautiful and tranquil location with fabulous views. They have a wonderful pool and set up for quincho. Each cabin has its own outdoor seating area, indoor living area and kitchenette as well as super comfy beds. Breakfast is brought to your room each morning (between 9-10am) and with fresh fruit and hot eggs and breads and coffee and tea. We had to leave early on our last morning so they delivered food the night prior for us. There is also one hot tub available to book but at an additional cost. We sadly couldn’t enjoy this feature as it was all booked for the time we were there so good to reserve even this well ahead. There is an excellent restaurant right next door (Colores del Elqui) which we would highly recommend (we went twice!). Overall, a lovely stay and beautiful location but we found it to be on the high end of the...
