Pension Hotel Pitrufquén — Hotel in Pitrufquén

We were on the return leg of our travels on the way to Santiago. Pitrufquen was a stopover for the night but we were not sure what we would find. Then we entered the courtyard and found that this hotel had both rooms and cabanas. The hotel is quite new so everything is working and very clean and modern. Comfortable bed plus good pressure hot shower. I dont know if the heaters work as the room was quite warm enough without any heating. We were not sure what to do about dinner but on asking the helpful staff offered dinner at a very reasonable price. It was nothing fancy but more than adequate. Breakfast consisted of a lot of nice hot bread rolls and plenty of butter jam ham and cheese plus coffee. We were on our motorbikes and the hotel made sure that we could park them as much undercover as possible. ||||We were thinking to have one of the cabanas but they are setup to hold large families with a kitchenette and lots of beds rather than similar to a small one room flat. La cabaña estaba fría cuando llegamos a las 6 de la tarde a pesar de que la reserva fue hecha con antelación. No había leña suficiente para toda la noche, la "bosca" era muy pequeña y no funcionaba bien. No dormimos tratando de calentar el lugar. Esto es recurrente en el sur de Chile, las cabañas están, en su mayoría preparadas para el verano y la experiencia en invierno es muy desagradable con el frío, al que los del norte no estamos acostumbrados. El baño estaba tan fétido que no nos duchamos, había que entrar aguantando la respiración. El azúcarero tenía sal (rico para el café de la mañana!).
