Hotel Espana — Hotel in Porvenir

This Hostel/Hotel in Porvenir (Tierra del Fuego) was a great experience.||It's located two blocks from the beach and you'll find everything you need around, like small supermarkets and a good bakery. The restaurant of the hotel serves quite good food all day as well.||We had a triple room with private bathroom on the first floor including breakfast. The room was spacious and had good light from a lot of windows from where you could even see the waterfront. Beds were big and comfortable and there were shelfs and bedside tables to put your stuff on, as well as a closet. Everything was really clean, the bathroom as well. Good, hot shower 24 hours and central heating, so it was never cold.||The breakfast was really good, as the bread was freshly handmade by the woman who also serves breakfast. The "better" hotels and B&B's were either full or closed so we ended up in this hotel for two nights. ||Our room (matrimonial) was on the first floor on the side street. The bed filled almost the whole room and the rest was taken up by a TVtable and a other nondescript wooden something. And a lot of frills. The bathroom was very small but the shower worked and the water was hot enough.||It was clean and the bedlinen smelled good.||||The man-and-wife (?) team were very friendly and we had a place for our motorbikes in the back yard parking. They were in the middle of renovations so in the morning the builders started, accompanied by heavy metal music. ||||Breakfast was the usual affair, some toasted bread, some cheese and coffee.||We dined in the restaurant for two nights. This hotel (?) was a last choice effort. The room we had was on the second floor street side. Since there is not much traffic it was fine. The hotel is located two blocks from the bay. The carpet in our room was torn and had not been cleaned for a few days. The bed was comfortable and the sheets clean and fresh.The bath could use some maintenance and repair.
