Hotel Natura Patagonia — Hotel in Puerto Varas

The very best thing about this hotel is the beautiful setting. It is in the center of the Vicente Perez Rosales Natural Park, nestled amidst the Andes near Lake Todos los Santos. It is a wonderful way to break up the beautiful lake crossing from Chile to Argentina. We arrived in the afternoon and took a great 4x4 tour and after dinner enjoyed the stars. We also enjoyed a short hike to a waterfall close to the hotel. The folks at the desk were very helpful with issues surrounding the wifi connections.||||The food was fine in the hotel restaurant, but it would have been nice if they could have opened the doors for a bit of cross ventilation as there is no AC at the hotel. The only real negative thing we thought about the hotel was the level of cleanliness of the rooms. The floors in both the bedroom and the bathroom needed to be cleaned better. There was dust in the corners of the bedroom and the bathroom had clearly not been vacuumed well.||||There is no air conditioning in the rooms, but we slept fine with the windows open. There was a screen on the window, but I do not believe there are mosquitoes there anyway. In the end, the positives outweighed any negative and I encourage folks to slow down and make the stop in Peulla and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. There is only one other choice of hotel here, and I was told it is not as nice, so I would stay at the Hotel Natura and sit back and soak in the beautiful surroundings. We stayed at this hotel for one night, during our Cruce Andino/Andes Crossing. This is the newer of the two hotels in Peulla. The two are adjacent to each other and there is basically nothing else. I can’t call this a town, or even a village. There is one very, very tiny shop (snacks/drinks) attached to the older hotel. The older hotel is currently closed for renovations. The newer hotel is about 12 years old and looks relatively new, on the ground floor. The room was large and the ground floor is beautiful. The bar is gorgeous, especially the “tree” bar. There is a gorgeous room with a fireplace and couch and tables/chairs. We spent a lovely evening in that room with our drinks in front of the fire. Everything was great at that hotel. Our only complaint was the restaurant. It is beautiful but the food is terrible in my view and very expensive. We paid about $70 per meal for two adults to eat (one day with drinks, one day without). Which is wildly overpriced for what we got. I couldn’t even finish my meal on either day. We will pass through again on our return, and I refuse to eat there. 21-02-2023 Lo bueno: Habitaciones limpias, entorno hermoso, tranquilidad, personal amable. Lo malo: almuerzo tipo buffet sin opción de menú a la carta, muy mal preparando comida realmente mala las mantienen a muy baja temperatura y al servir se enfrían rápido, sopa de sobre, tallarines preparados con cebolla picada y un poco de salsa directo del tarro sin nada de carne, cerdo se nota recalentado, cordero muy pasado a grasa. Aparte carísimo para ser un bufet de baja categoría. Internet demasiado limitado muy mala conectividad sólo toma en la recepción y áreas de pasillo, olvídense que van a tener conectividad en las habitaciones, tampoco hay televisión. Desayuno bastante pobre, pan de molde añejo, jamón sándwich, a los jugos le echan agua para que cunda, no hay leche caliente y la guinda de la torta “Té Supremo” Horarios de desayuno, almuerzo y cena demasiados acotados sólo 2 hrs. Todos los días el restaurante se llena de gente que no son pasajeros sino personas que van de excursión por el día y pasan a almorzar. El Salón de juegos es un chiste, la paletas para jugar Ping Pong están quebradas, hay una sola mesa de billar a diferencia de lo que se muestra en la página la cual está desnivelada y tiene bolas repetidas. Todos los juegos que hay son para niños ninguno es profesional partiendo por la mesa de Pool. Habitaciones sin aire acondicionado y en días calurosos es difícil soportar y si abres las ventanas se meten los insectos y las arañas. Los mosquiteros que están habilitados están mal instalados quedando sueltos con espacios por donde se meten igual los bichos. Baños con mucha olor a humedad y hongos. Cortinas, sábanas y cubrecamas manchados con sangre seca no sé si de picaduras de insectos a los viajeros o algún otro motivo, pedimos el cambio de ropa de cama y llegó otra en iguales condiciones, en resumen mala experiencia, no tienen servicio a la habitación y tampoco friego bar por lo que sí a alguien le da sed después de las 22:00 horas se muere de sed hasta el día siguiente. si no fuera por el bar que está al lado del hotel (Route 225) nos morimos de hambre, el bar tiene una carta acotada, pero súper rica. Variedad de hamburguesas, cervezas y las papas fritas son espectaculares, además precios acorde a Mercado lo malo es que queda a una buena cantidad de metros del hotel y para llegar ahí en la noche hay que atravesar un jardín sin nada de luz artificial. En definitiva por el valor que cobran por habitación en el hotel mínimo tener buena Internet en las habitaciones y algún entretenimiento para cuando anochece dado que fuera del hotel es todo oscuro, 0 luz y no se puede hacer nada más que estar en la habitación, 0 comida típica, 0 carnes a las brasas, nada de pan de campo o cazuelas, nada que ver con las expectativas que alguien podría tener de un hotel en medio del bosque y campo patagónico. una decepción y aburrimiento letal.
