Hotel Picamaderos — Hotel in San Clemente

We went here in early April and had most of the hotel to ourselves. The location is amazing, they have offroad parking, and they prepare up to three meals a day (though you have to pay for lunch and dinner, and extra for breakfast if you want eggs). The breakfast is just okay, but the lunch and dinner were more varied and plentiful. They have delicious natural fruit juice. The rooms were really cold at first but they warmed up after we asked them to turn on the gas heater in the room. You just have to have realistic expectations. Much better than a cabin IMO with the level of service provided. Be sure to tip the girls a little for all their hard work. One more thing. Because I'm a foreigner, I had a hard time paying them anything in advance to hold the room. They allowed me to pay on site, which...

This place is a gem! Steps from the entrance to the park, where everyone else has to drive and park on the side of the road. The rooms are comfortable and clean, but the service was spectacular. There are so many unexpected amenities - you can eat in their little restaurant, or bring your own food and use their grill, refrigerator, etc. They have a pool (although we were there past the season to use it), hot tubs, ample communal seating inside and outside, wine, beer and cocktails. La ubicación es inmejorable. Está justo al lado de la entrada a la Reserva. La decoración es acogedora, aunque esperaba que estuviese más cálido el ambiente dentro del hotel. Hay estufas, pero no las mantienen encendidas. El lugar está limpio, al igual que las habitaciones. Creo que a la administración le falta afinar varios detalles para ofrecer un servicio de acuerdo al perfil del hotel (tiene potencial de ser mejor). Hay muy poco personal de servicio y cumplen todas las tareas y eso lleva a confusiones y a tiempos de espera muy largos a la hora de la comida, cuando hay muchos huéspedes. No había alguien fijo en recepción. El desayuno muy básico y desorganizado. Y a mi parecer, la relación precio / calidad de la comida no es bueno. Pague $18.000 + propina, por un menú de tallarines con boloñesa, una mini ensalada, fruta de postre y una bebida.
