HOSTAL CASA AMARILLA — Hotel in San Vicente de Tagua Tagua

Stayed a couple of nights and it wasn't inspiring. The place is definitely kept clean and the majority of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Others eye you with suspicion and seem disturbed by your mere presence. The owner is present only through whatsapp messages, and those are neither amiable nor polite. He'll ask you for pre-payment - pay your stay when you get into the hotel. No bankcards accepted, in my case I had to transfer the money via bank transfer as I have an account in Chile. At the hostal they won't tell you the price, you have to call or send a msg to the owner to find out, unless they can reach him, which doesn't happen without delay. The place looks pleasant, but it is not really a hostal at all, for instance no kitchen to be shared. It is a small rather rural pension. The Internet is very good. Breakfast is good and nothing out of the ordinary, juice from a supermarket, only instant coffee. No Agriturismo, of course, as a website claims. The owner is not above giving false info, for instance promising a room with a bath, then offering a room with a shared bathroom, for the same price (I accepted anyway, I was tired of all the complications.) Bed sheets with large yellow stains, wardrobes almost falling over, sunlight through the roof of the bedroom, shower applications falling out of the fixtures, shower doors falling apart, keys for the room that actually do not fit, and missing for other rooms completely. Ah yes, and it is noisy, of course, as the windows don't really close shut. For instance, in the dining area, glass panels are missing in one window. I can only recommend to never go there if it is cold. There is air current through bad building quality everywhere. Why did I stay? For convenience first, and because (part of) the staff was just adorable and made me feel very welcome, and as a frequent traveler you try to focus on the main things you are looking for. For the noise, I have ear plugs, the water in the shower was hot with good pressure in the shower (not so much in the small sink) . Beautiful little hotel in San Vicente. Very friendly owners and staff, who make your stay memorable. The room was very clean and comfortable, with a nice terrace for relaxing. Parking if you need it. Breakfast was very nice with scrambled eggs,ham, cheese, jam delicious fresh local bread and hot herbal teas amongst other beverage choices. Debo hacer algunos alcances de nuestra estadía. Con el afán de que se mejore para una futura estadía en su hostal. 1.- al llegar no estaba clara la reserva, nos dispusieron en otra habitación, eso si muy buena. Pero queda la sensación de poca organización. 2.- Una crítica, fue el tema del desayuno del día sábado. Bajamos de nuestra habitación y no había lugar para nosotros. Todas las mesas ocupadas y todas las mesas con losa sucia de otros huéspedes. preguntando si había servicio de desayuno o alguien que realizara la atención. Tuvimos que limpiar las mesas retirar losa sucia, lavar platos para desayunar... A los minutos llego una dama con muy mala disposición preguntando a todo pulmón quien estaba reclamando...esto fue a las 8:30 hrs de la mañana. Por favor hablar con el personal. 3.- un solo confort en la habitación para 4 personas. Mejorar. Mención especial a la señora Rosita, muy buena disposición, siempre dispuesta a ayudarnos nos atendió super bien. Gracias.
