Bellavista de Colchagua — Hotel in Santa Cruz

Perfectly situated 2 hrs away from the traffic of Santiago in the middle of wine country, this small resort was the perfect spot to relax for 5 days. We followed the quiet county roads lined with vineyards for an hour until arriving at the seashore to enjoy an fternoon walking the oceanside trail and watching surfers at Punta de Lobos ( reputed to be one of Chile's most beautiful beaches). ||My husband and I rented the larger of 2 cabanas on the property. It was spacious and very nicely decorated. The kitchenette does not allow for cooking meals but the sink, counter, fridge and kettle made it easy to put together simple snacks amd picnic lunches to take on the road. There is a very limited dinner menu available in the dining room but I would recommend dinner at on of the many local restaurants in Santa Cruz (close by) for greater variety. Breakfast is included with your stay and is both ample and excellent (fresh smoothie, coffee, eggs, buns, cheese, ham, seasonal fruit, yogurt and granola. You will be full!||The very best part of the stay was the gardens (immaculate) and the decent sized pool (super clean). This is an excellent choice if you need a base in the Santa Cruz region.

The staff are excellent, friendly, helpful, and some of them do speak excellent English.

It is a family run hotel and this is clear from the non-commercial less hurried nature of the venue and staff from the off and is evident as soon as you drive in.

It has a lovely little (unheated) swimming pool, and area for pizza, and BBQs if you request it.

Food is offered in the evening. The breakfast is simply superb. Home made bread, grapes grown in the garden, freshly squeezed juice, eggs from the hens and home made cake, plus a wide choice of cereals and the obligatory ham and cheese, along with coffee, tea and some yoghurts.

It is simply delightful.

The staff will also help advise which are the better vineyards to visit and why, and, arrange the bookings to suit your own agenda.

I, and our entire party, cannot fault this venue in any way, and we are delighted that we chose this family run hotel rather than a larger establishment.

Fomos a esse hotel recomendado pelas avalições do Tripadvisor. Foi um total decepção!!! Não volto e não recomendo a ninguém! A decepcão iniciou desde a chegada até a saida:|1- o hotel não constava do nosso GPS no endereço dado; não tinhamos internet pois o cartão pré pago que compramos não funcionou. Após um dia exastivo de viagem de Santiago a Vina del Mar e depois Santa Cruz ( quase 5h de carro) nos perdemos e portanto chegamos tarde da noite; 23h. A senhora q nos esperava nos deu um "pito" por isso e fomos " mandados" para o quarto. Ela inclusive reclamou do tamanho das nossas malas...|2- ao chegar ao nosso quarto, descobrimos porque: não havia espaço para elas: o quarto era pequeno, de teto baixo, sem lugar para os pertences; havia duas janelas grandes onde as cortinas finas não fechavam direito. Faltou pano...|3- ficamos 3 noites com limpeza mais ou menos: em nenhum dia os copos do quarto foram trocados, tive q lavar eu mesma na pia; as toalhas de banho foram retiradas e não repostas, tivemos q reclamar e outra senhora perguntou o q tinhamos feito com elas?!!? As toalhas da piscina não foram trocadas em nenhum dia|4- o quarto que reservamos estava descrito como com jardim próprio, só que esqueceram de avisar que havia um vizinho bem ao lado e com varanda compartilhada, inclusive no ultimo dia havia outro vizinho que estava fumando!! |5- a piscina era bem menor do que o visto no tripadvisor e gelado! Se quisesse usar a hidromassagem tinha que pagar; ou seja, pagamos por uma piscina inútel|6- o café da manhã foi fracos mas tudo bem, as pousadas no Brasil são beeeem melhores. O atendimento nota 5 em 10|7- tomamos um segundo pito por chegar tarde no dia seguinte pois ficamos no centro da cidade assistindo ao festival de verão; chegamos meia noite e meia e o portão da entarda estava fechado e as luzes da pousada apagadas. Ou seja, pessoal que gosta de ficar mais tarde se divertindo nas férias Não se hospede lá pois não é um hotel " boutique" mas um pensionato de freiras|8- finalmente, para completar, no check out ao pagar com dolar, como estipulado pelos emails que recebi da pousada, fomos supreendidos com a " dúvida" da senhora da recepção sobre a origem deles ( entendi que ela duvidava da autenticidade deles) |9- não recomendo aos brasileiros pois achamos que pode ser nossa procedencia que levou a esse tratamento " diferenciado". Percebemos claramente a diferenca de tratamento em relação ao ingleses e chilenos que lá estavam hospedado, inclusive mesmo dizendo que entendiamos bem o espanhol, ficavam o tempo todo falando em...
