Camp Laguna Azul — Hotel in Torres del Paine

The 2 (+1, explained below) star is because of the location, simply breathtaking. The regular staff (not the manager/owner and management people though, all they care about is money and nothing else) were also quite friendly and helpful. But other than that, our experience was quite unsatisfactory.

Firstly, there is a serious lack of accountability. On the first night, they had no clue where our tents, sleeping bags and cots were. We booked for 6 people and initially they had stuff ready for 2. Finally, after 90 mins of scrambling around, they managed 2 more tents because some other party did not show up. Even then, they could not manage two cots and two Mats. So far, they did not offer any compensation and from the tone, are trying the avoid any responsibility. And the reason they were short of those were apparently because they oversold to other people even though we booked over two months back. What a bunch of irresponsible money grabbing incompetent "hosts".

Secondly, there is no coordination between kau patagonia and the camping site. That is why our accommodation was charged twice. Although they refunded ultimately, that is not before I pointed it out from my credit card statement by spending precious time from our vacation emailing them, and calling them. What a nuisance!

The bathrooms are untidy and dirty most of the time.

The amount of money they charge and the level of service they provide is bismal.

Excelente camping en TdP! Muy buen trato del personal, rica pizza y wifi super rapido, que fue muy necesitado ya que nuestro perro en cada estaba enfermo, entonces nos dió mucha seguridad tener noticias desde casa. Super recomendado! Very nice camping in TdP! Very nice and attentive staff, clean bathrooms and hot showers (from 7 to 11pm). We had a pizza which was delicious. The wifi is super fast and was amazing for us, because we had a sick dog back home and was very comforting knowing we could be in touch. Lots of animals amd birds around which was great! We had an amazing experience here. We arrived late (7:30PM) after a long day on our bikes and found a neat little camping close to the lake. When we notified the staff of our arrival, they went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. They made us a delicious homemade pizza from scratch (including the dough) and immediately heated the common room so we could have our meal next to a warm fire.
