It feels like you're staying in somebody's very welcoming home. The staff are warm, caring, and extremely helpful. The breakfast is good, and the dinner (not included in the room price, but reasonably priced for the location) is excellent. We really appreciated them cooking for us after the 9.00 pm cut-off time.
The location is about 45 minutes closer than Puerto Natales to the main viewpoints in Torres del Paine (including the mirador for base torres). It may not sound like a huge amount, but that extra hour and a half will feel like an eternity considering how physically taxing the hikes are. It also feels like you're part of a community there. Puerto Natales is more of a tourist town (a bit like El Calafate).
In response to some of the other reviews:
Yes, the walls are not the thickest. That said, it's generally a quiet place, and we didn't hear anything between 10.30 pm and 7.30 am. Unless you're planning to sleep in the early evening, this should not be an issue. We both slept absolutely fine and both of us are light sleepers.
On value for money, you're unlikely to find anything better. Places inside Torres del Paine NP are VERY expensive. Staying in Puerto Natales is a bit cheaper but, for the reasons I've mentioned above, it's well worth paying the premium. Chile, and Patagonia in particular, is not cheap. You have to bear that in mind.
It's also handy being right next to the Argentinian border if you're planning to cross!

Read moreWe had the most wonderful stay at Riverline Lodge! Due to my limited Spanish, I had to use What's App to contact the lodge to see if I could book a room. Javier was quick to respond and had one room available. He trusted us to show up for the reservation. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Javelina. Javier was able to meet the needs of our group - we are most appreciative of his flexibility and understanding of the needs of our group! Dinner was delicious! It came with soup and sopapillas. We also had some beers and bottles of wine that he had available with dinner. The room itself was very comfortable - the bed and bedding were great! We got to lounge around in the living room and truly felt we were staying in someone's home. A continental breakfast was included and was a great start to our day! Ham, cheese, sweets, breads, cereals, fresh fruit. etc were all available. Five stars plus for Javier and family -...
Read moreMe and my friend stayed at the Riverline Lodge in January 2025 as part of a trip to Patagonia. After spending a couple of nights in Santiago, the serenity of the accommodation was much welcomed. It had a quintessentially cosy feel, characterised by log fires and wood panelling. The location itself is also worth a mention - nestled amongst a brutally windy valley, the Lodge stands firm as a place of comfort and recuperation.||A special mention to the hostess Carolina (apologies if the spelling is incorrect!). We arrived at the accommodation late in the day, but she went out of her way to make us feel immediately welcome, advising on walks and offering a packed lunch for the following day’s pursuits.||A fantastic place to stay on the outskirts of...
