Surprisingly, this fantastic little boutique hotel hasn’t yet (until now) been reviewed on TA. We stayed here for 2 nights as a home base for exploring the Flowering Desert. Our room was bright, spacious and beautifully decorated with all amenities, including a TV, mini fridge, hair dryer, etc. Our bathroom was also spacious with a large, walk-in shower and a skylight to brighten it up. There was also an abundance of big fluffy towels. The common areas were just as tastefully appointed as our room: the living room offered comfortable sofas and chairs for reading, listening to music, or watching their large, flat screen TV. Their patio and pool area was lovely, and a nice spot to relax in the afternoon sun. Although the staff didn’t speak English, they were extremely friendly, helpful and thoughtful too – particularly Janett, who brought out extra swimming towels when she noticed us walking down towards the pool. The hotel also served ‘onces’ which is basically an afternoon Chilean tea. In the evening, they turned down our bed and left chocolates on our pillows. They also left a tray with a thermos of hot water for tea or coffee, and cookies too - it was a very nice touch. Breakfast was hearty with cereal, yogurt, toast, pastries, cheeses, hams, home made jams, local honey, fruits and fruit spreads. The hotel was safe with secure parking for our rental, and only short walk to the Plaza des Armas. Our only disappointment was not being able to find a restaurant in town that matched the quality and value of the hotel (approx. $40,000CLP/night). If our travels ever take us through Vallenar again, we would definitely stay here. It was a great, unexpected find in El...
Read moreMy husband and I only stayed one night, but we enjoyed it and have no complaints. The hotel and our room were clean and very nicely decorated, very reminiscant of a Chilean home. The hotel common area, and kitchen/breakfast area also felt home-like rather than like a commercial hotel. We appreciated having the mini-fridge and thermos of hot water with teabags in the room. Our room was small and looked onto an intermal patio with a view of the reception desk, but we arrived late, so I suppose we got the last room left. ||||There were several other Chilean guests at breakfast. Breakfast was self-service of a wide assortment of cold cuts and cheeses with different breads or toast, spreads, cereals and yogurts. There was more variety than you'll find at most hotels here. ||||There is secure, off-street parking. We speak Spanish so did not notice whether English was spoken or not. Given the length of our stay, we didn't have much interaction with the staff, yet they were pleasant. ||||I would have given it 5 stars if the price had been a little less, especially given the size...
Read moreWe found the hotel via trip advisor, however it was full, so they offered the apart hotel (same name, same owner) a little bit away from the downtown (if you mean away 5 min drive....) they have a couple of little two floor houses in a recently build neighborhood, very nice and clean with a touch of "designer decoration". The overall (specially for a city like Vallenar!) was awesome, we tried to stay an extra night but was no houses available :(|They can certainly improve, like having 4 of everything (our kitchen has 3 cups and 3 spoons) since we were 2 couples plus kids...also internet was not working, and the backyard can be nicer. But after all we spent a nice stay, we would definitely back there again, this is probably the best place in...
