Hostal Merken — Hotel in Villarrica

I normally do not write reviews on the places where I have stayed, but I feel compelled to write this one. Merken Bead and Breakfast is a one of a kind place. Villarrica was my first stop in Chile and I had the privilige to stay here. From the luxurious bedrooms, beautiful and open landscapes, to the incredibly friendly hosts, Irene and Marcelo, this is the place to be. The included breakfast was delicious everyday, and fulfilling, and Marcelo was there to help me with anything I needed in regards to tourist activities, seeing as I do not speak a lick of Spanish. Marcelo and Irene really make you feel at home, and as if you are the only guest, even though there were many when I visited. They make you feel important and welcomed, something that is hard to find these days. I 110 percent recommend Merken Bead and Breakfast if you are planning on visiting Chile. You should make it a point of your trip to visit the south and stay at this wonderful resort. 12/10...

My husband and I spent three nights at Irene and Marcelo’s bed and breakfast. They are incredibly welcoming, very friendly, and their hospitality knows no limits! We shared stories about our families courtesy of our cell phones abilities to translate (!) and shared some laughs too. The included breakfast was nutritious and delicious.
