Hosteria Alemana — Hotel in Villarrica

It's a house not a proper hostel. Major sound issue. We booked a matrimonial room which was actually located in the garage...The converted the garage into a room...as you can imagine not very pleasant, dark, gloomy... The kind of room you don't want to spend time only come to sleep.|The bathroom at the end of the room has no proper evacuation for air and humidity, only a small window between our own room and bedroom. Very old dirty carpet.|As it was an old garage, there is a common door with house and so major sound issue.|The bed and mattress were really good.|No breakfast included which was the first in 2 weeks of holidays in chile.|For the kind of room we have, I don't think it's a cheap place. I'm pretty sure we could find better option...

This is NOT A HOSTEL and THERE IS NO RECEPTION!!!! This is someone's house and it is not welcoming at all. There isn't even a sign up out the front identifying it as accommodation. A couple that were staying there told us we were in the right place and then called the owner/ manager to check us in (as we didn't have a phone), the person manning the 24/7 reception turned up in a car 20-30 minutes later to check us in. Every night a group of middle age med would arrive and sit in the lounge, watch TV and talk and then eat dinner and leave around 21:30hrs. You can hear everything from your room so sleep is broken. The bed was comfortable and the place clean, though these two factors do not make up for everything else wrong and unpleasant...

We stayed 3 nights and would have loved to have stayed longer.||||Armin and Jose Luis are lovely hosts. They couldn't do enough for us to make sure we had a great stay. Always checking in with us to make sure we had everything we needed, giving us info about hot springs, buses even making calls to the hot springs to check how to get there.||||Breakfast was yummy too, standard you get in Chile with the added bonus of homemade kunchen.||||They were even so kind as to practise Spanish with us while feeding us more kunchen and providing the tea! ||||Wifi good plus the location is excellent. Hot showers...
