7 Days Inn — Hotel in Beijing

First impressions matter, and on that front 7 Days Inn Tiananmen was an an utter failure. The room had not been cleaned even though we were checking in at 22:00 (a full ten hours after the mandatory checkout time for them to clean.) To be fair, we made our reservation last minute only 30 minutes before checking in. To their credit, they flipped the room in less than 15 minutes, and the cleaning was thorough.

More generally, the facilities were run down and outdated. The breakfast is an additional fee and the quality was not there. There are many great food vendors within two blocks of the hotel that are much cheaper and far better in quality.

All that said, on a budget and wanting to sleep close to the Palace Museum, Tiananmen, etc. I would recommend7 Days...

The location is near some major sites and about 750 metres away from Line 1 and Line 2 metro systems.There are several convience stores nearby and an ATM (fee free) and nice Cafe directly across the road. The staff were polite and helpful. The amenities (towels and toothbrush) were good quality. The towels and toothbrushs were replaced and bins emptied each day but the beds were not made up at all during our 4 day stay. The carpets in the hall way needed replacing, threadbare in several areas. Vaccuming seemed very infrequent. Room cleanliness and general maintenance are poor.The first room we were offered (418) did not have a door on the toilet / bathroom. The next room (317) had a very mouldy bathroom and the toilet...

We never stayed in this hotel. We were in 6, that we have booked via BOOKING.COM three 2 bed rooms for 2 nights. When we arrived there, we entered to the reception area that smelled really badly. The staff did not speak a word in English. Fortunately we had with us the Chinese taxi driver that brought us to this hotel, so we could communicate with them. But the worst thing was that they told us that no room booking resulted in their system plus that no room was available for us. I showed them the booking confirmation printed in Chinese. No benefit! The result: 6 strangers looking at Beijing for another hotel. The worst experience...
