Read moreI stayed at this hotel in connection with a 4-day business trip from November 4-7, 2024. The most attractive thing about this hotel is its location. There are attractions nearby. It is convenient to walk to the metro and public transport. There are large shopping malls nearby. The breakfasts at the hotel are decent, mostly in the Chinese tradition, but you can also find European dishes. In any case, do not take coffee for breakfast - it is not coffee, but a brown bitter liquid!|The condition of the hotel leaves much to be desired. It needs renovation and renovation of the interior. The rooms are heavily smoky, despite the smoking ban. Local Guests smoke quietly, even in the common corridor, nothing bothers them. The receptionist doesn't take any action to stop it.|The most unpleasant thing happened when I was leaving the hotel. When I left the hotel, I left my jewelry in the room. I called from the taxi on the way to the airport, but the desk clerk said he didn't understand English. There was no way to return to the hotel, so I wrote a letter to the reception with a translation into Chinese. Then I sent several more emails a week apart to the corporate email address of the Grand Mercure Hotel. Unfortunately, I haven't received any responses. The jewelry wasn't cheap-an engagement ring and my mom's ring. It's been a long time since I've seen such indifference from the hotel staff, I have a lot of experience, I travel the world a lot. Keep in mind that it is unlikely that the hotel will meet you after you pay...
Read moreHorrendous. Not even the location can save this hotel any recommendation to others whatsoever.
Overall service was way too poor and what a bad name it’s given to Accor. Underwhelming experience. No warmth given by the staff and simple requests met with some sort uncomfortable remark.
Front desk staff could barely converse in English, even for fairly popular attractions, they were confused and unhelpful. What was remarkable was that when a caucasian checked-in, suddenly the staff were able to speak in some English.
Rooms and overall hotel feels unkept and old.
Hotel staff do not practice to greet or to check on guests at all, from front desk staff, to bellboy to housekeeping.
Poor housekeeping, all soap bottles were empty from day 1 and after 2 rounds of housekeeping.
Do not disturb sign was also breached once. Unacceptable.
A housekeeper questioned if my residing at the hotel was legit and mentioned he just needed to check as the hotel was quite strict recently. Then send me your hotel manager, general manager, duty manager or even your security, no?
City map in the room was old and reused from the previous guest, who had writings and drawings all over it.
Front desk staff, Frank Du - assured a cab fare of $400 yuan + or a max of $500 yuan but the fare came up to $680 yuan! Terrible disregard to your guest.
Do not recommend and there are so many other hotels all around that would probably not be as bad as this for...
