Our group of 8 American teachers is staying here as part of a group tour. When we read the reviews before arriving, we were concerned. We are already acclimated to the differences between Chinese and American standards but even at that, we had low expectations.|| ||We have found the hotel very nice, even by American standards. It does seem to cater to large group travel from around the world, but all of our rooms are very clean and lovely. The bed is slightly harder than American beds, but not nearly as hard as some Chinese beds we've experienced. The bathroom is modern and clean and most of us have balconies. There is even a mini-fridge, 2 bottles of water per day and clean and new curtains. The towels are embroidered with the name of the hotel, but arenot threadbare by any means and are of average quality. The lobby is lovely and a great place to meet.|| ||The breakfast selection is vast! There are two full buffet areas to choose from - one side is labeled for Chinese guests and one for "foreigners", but you can choose food from either or both sides. The Chinese side has typical breakfast foods like dumplings, and Congee and buns. The "Western" side has toast, fried eggs, sausages, bacon and even grilled tomatoes and tea for those from Great Britain. Yes, the staff are slow to clear the tables, but just move it out of the way and have a seat.|| ||The staff does not seem to speak much English and did seem to know where the subway stop was, but because most of the folks here are getting picked up by the tour bus, they probably don't use it much. Their demeanor is similar to other Chinese hotels we've stayed in and should not be held to western standards.|| ||The neighborhood has many plusses - several supermarkets just around the corner and a good noodle shop across the street. Within a short walk is a pretty river with nice walking paths.|| ||I rely on Trip Advisor reviews to help me choose hotels and I would never have chosen this one based on the negative reviews, but I honestly can't imagine that I'm staying in the same hotel as the people who wrote these reviews. This hotel is very nice by...
Read moreWhen I first got there i felt a strange feeling over me. When I opened my room door I could smell a pungent smell and smoke in the room. The bedsheets were not cleaned and was obvs reused sheets. The bathroom had a weird interior and floor was wet. Tables were dirty and not cleaned properly. The heaters weren’t working properly and the entire room was freeezing. Went down for breakfast at the restaurant barely any selections mostly cold and not enough seats. If you have the budget please don’t choose this hotel even if u don’t have budget find others. It’s really not worth it for the price and the service was extremely bad. Had unpleasant experience at...
Read moreWe stayed at the hotel as part of an organised tour. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The bed was very firm which is standard in China. The towels in the bathroom were very threadbare but the was a good range of toiletries. We were warned about any hair dye or make up in the towels would be charged at checkout. The breakfast was very ordinary and was not topped up regularly. Cutlery and crockery but filled up. No spoons. Nearby there were a number of places to eat (some directly across the road ) as well as shops for water etc. a supermarket was about a five minute walk from the hotel. Staff...
