I've stayed here twice for business. The first time was in April, and my main complaints were that the AC didn't work (due to laws from the Chinese gov) so my room was routinely 29 degrees C (84 F), and my shower was covered in mold and did not drain well. Limited English make it difficult to resolve issues, but I eventually managed to get the staff to bring up a fan to my room. I also had them send up a mechanic to fix the draining issue - unfortunately, the mold seemed to be stuck to the shower for good (it was under the plastic strips that keep water in the shower). The second stay was in September and the AC "worked" but never got below 25 C (77F). The shower was a lot cleaner this time.||||Other than the AC/mold, this hotel is fine. Rooms and bathroom are a decent size and clean enough, very comfortable bed, and they provide bottled water. There is a great bar area in the room that has a hot water kettle, coffee/tea cups and fixings, and a refrigerator (which doesn't appear to actually keep things cold, but maybe I was missing something). The hotel includes free breakfast buffet, which I usually avoid, but you can probably find something if you're not too picky. If you go too late, it's slim pickings and cold, so it's best to get there around 7 am.||||Gym is pretty terrible. It's right next to the pool in the basement and it's carpeted, so it's humid and mildew-y. It's probably ok if you want to run on the treadmill, but if you want to use free weights then... good luck. Most of the dumbbells are mismatched/taped together. There is a non-standard bar for benching that is a mysterious weight and length (but there is a scale, so you can weigh it!). ||||Overall, this hotel is okay. There aren't much better options in the area...
Read moreI only spent two nights at the Fengda. In general, it was adequate for business purposes. It's location in the new business district was very convenient. The bed was comfortable and the room generally clean. The bathroom was dated, corrosion was visible among metal trim near floor of the shower. As is the case (I'm told) throughout Beijing, English speaking skills of the staff (even the front desk) was limited. My air conditioning stopped working the first night. I reported this (in person) to the front desk in the morning. The young lady manning the desk had very limited English. I think she called someone to report the AC issue, but she was more interested in making me go away, my AC was never fixed. Not a big deal, I was leaving the following morning. You get 2 bottles of complimentary water, and if you use the mini bar, it is not overly expensive (ex: can of Cola is about $1.25 USD). The breakfast buffet (included in room rate) was large with a small selection of western style breakfast items, and proved more than adequate. The WIFI gets incredibly slow in the afternoon, but that seems to be prevalent in the Beijing area and may not be the fault of the hotel. Of the 60 channels on the TV, 1 is English language (CNN). The gym does not open until 7:00 am, as a result I was never able to use it due to my business schedule. The area around the hotel is nice, I felt perfectly safe walking at night. A short walk from the hotel brings you to a very nice walking park with waterfalls, a nice...
Read moreMy family stayed at this hotel in September 2018. We booked a total of 7 rooms and upon check-in at 2am was told there is not enough rooms. However the front desk upgrade four rooms to suites at no extra charge. The strange things that followed were that my immediate family had two rooms with only one access card for each room and one of the card is given the permission to operate the lift to the rooms and the other can only open the door. This has caused a lot of inconvenience as the two rooms need to move about together otherwise not able to take the lift back to the room. Another problem was my wife wanted to go for breakfast and I want to continue sleeping but not able to since the power will be cut off when she took the access card.||Luckily all these problems were rectified by the day shift staff when we changed back to the standard rooms in the morning.||The hotel also need to equip itself for multiple function as one morning the coffee machine and toaster were not available at breakfast place because they were taken to the banquet hall for a private function.||Despite the strange encounter at check-in, we still like our stay at this hotel as the rooms are big, clean and comfortable. The hotel location is also good as it is near MRT station, shopping centre and restaurants. There is also a small...
