This hotel is good value for money for people doing business in the area. It is a long way from the centre, though there is a subway station nearby. Allow at least an hour to get to the centre of Beijing on the subway (5 RMB) or by taxi takes the same amount of time due to the traffic (approx 80 RMB). The rooms were a reasonable size, clean and comfortable. Tokens are available from reception for the laundry room and there's a small fitness gym. Also a shuttle bus running around the local businesses and it will take you elsewhere locally if you ask, at the end of its run. There are also bicycles available for rent and a small "business centre" with computers, scanner and printer. We did not smell any smoke in the hotel at all. The staff are friendly and helpful and some of them speak English well enough. They will order taxis and write down where you want to go in Chinese. I was not impressed with the food. There are other Chinese restaurants around the corner to the left, and if you keep walking, behind the Pullman, there's an Italian restaurant. Overall I would recommend this hotel and be happy to...
Read moreActually, this was one of the best hotels I did stay in china. I was able to sleep very well, and had a table for my laptop, that's all I needed my room for.
Everything worked, was clean. The wifi was very good with about 10MBit/s at no extra costs, just connect.
Actually the stuff at the front desk always said "yes, sir", but mostly they did not understand what I wanted. When I tried to extend my room by 2 weeks, they asked me about 5 times wheter I wanted to "check out today or tomorrow".
Also after extending my room, they locked the room on the first day because of my visa. The next day, it was locked because they did not rewrite the room card, and the next day the room was locked again as they did not check my credit while extending.
The american breakfast is not really american, it's mostly chinese, the american part must be the toast and coffee.
My first room was next to an industrial site, and the windows were not sealing properly.
My first room was facing a street, also the windows were bad and not sealing properly.

My room was spacious and comfortable, but though there was a hob and microwaved there were no pots or pans and the crockery was very minimal, so it wasn’t possible to utilise the facilities.
Regular passing trains can be heard, but these were not intrusive. Breakfast okay but I believe this hotel is more focussed towards national rather than international clientele. Internet okay but limited as expected, minimal European TV.
That said it is handily placed in a safe and friendly area, near a shopping Mall and a handful of restaurants/ bars. The subway station is an easy ten minute walk, trains to central Beijing cheap and easy to access (ticket machines have an English option and staff there are helpful).
Approx 45 min -1 hr taxi ride from the Airport, (€20 ish)
If you are working nearby I’d...
