I took a chance on staying at this hotel because of the high ratings on trip advisor. My first warning that this hotel might not be all that it is supposed to be was arriving at the airport and not having the airport shuttle that was supposed to pick us up waiting for us. After contacting Ctrip, who made the reservations for us they finally got the shuttle to the airport. The 9 passenger van ended up being packed with 11 people and 10pcs of luggage where 2 would fit. The hotel is located smack dab in the middle of an industrial area, we passed about 10 parked semi trucks in an alley leading to the hotel. Front desk was helpful, but not very fluent in English. The Hotel looks like a 1960 howard johnson motel, inside and out. Our room had a smeared finger print of what looked like feces on the wall. The beds were rock hard, and appeard to be left from the 1960's as well. The free internet did not work on our 2009 laptop. The one thing that was updated was the tile on the bathroom walls, however, the shower head sprays down on the bathroom floor, with no curtain or way to contain the spray. If we had used it, the entire bathroom would have been soaked, including the toilet and toilet paper. Aftere explaining to the front desk that we wanted our money back for about 10 minutes, we asked for the manager. The manager told me for 100rmb per room, she would give us the rest of our money back. She was the only good thing about that hotel, she called the Crowne plaza and even rode with us in their van to help us book a room there. All is well that ends well, I guess, we slept well at the Crown Plaza, I would suggest that you...
Read moreThe 2 nights in Greentree Inn (Beijing Capital Airport Branch 2) was the worst hotel experience in my life. Strongly Not recommended!!Let's follow your score categories.Location: Not bad. Close to PEK and other public buses connect to subway#15; Cleanliness: Poor.Service: Terrible. 1. The Hotel claimed it provides the free airport transportations, on their advertisement and a phone call at the week prior to my check-in date. But when I landed and call the front desk, they told me that policy had been "revoked". Obviously, that happened after my booking, and they even told me that I can cancel my booking. Come on! I was at the airport and ready to checking. so I have to pay my taxi to get to the hotel with no choice. 2. The hotel claims their No smoking throughout the building, but when I complain about strong smell of smoking, the lady told me that they can't do anything about it.Facilities: Terrible. 1. Poor Lighting inside room. You can't read anything in the night. 2. Noisy/malfunctioning AC. Can't sleep when it's on, too much noise; Can't sleep either when the room is too cold. 3. Room is small, the bathroom is small, the shower space is Terribly small. 4. The access to the hotel is very crowed, awkward, and...
Read moreWith $29 a night, no stress about catching an early morning flight and being a deep sleeper, you can't go wrong with this hotel! I was located on the left side of the building so airplanes were landing in close proximity all night and bringing all of their noise with them. Luckily, I was absolutely exhausted from my weekend visit to Beijing that I managed to fall asleep anyways. I would NOT recommend this hotel to any sort of light sleeper! The actual room seemed quite clean with all basic amenities but the carpet hallways were dingy and stained. The hotel staff spoke English quite well which was also a plus. In the hotel booklet in the room, it stated that there was a business centre where visitors could check their email but such a place did NOT exist when we tried to follow this up. We had a wake-up call in the morning and then we were taken to the airport on the hourly shuttle bus without any problems. I can't comment on the food or the dining facilities at the hotel (which they do have!) because we arrived late in the evening and left early the next morning. Overall, I was happy with my experience here but would give a lower rating if I had to pay a...
